So...we owe Ashley & Rose an apology.
This Episode was supposed to be for them, led by them, but Kam and Alex wouldn't shut up lol. This episode is the first in a 2-parter discussing leadership qualities and duties, and what women truly expect from men.

Kept you waiting, huh?
We haven’t just been sitting around—we’ve been leveling up. Behind the scenes, we’ve been working on collaborations, keeping the magazine rolling, and (big news) expanding the squad. This season, you’re not just hearing from Alex and Kam anymore. We brought in two powerhouse voices—Ashley and Rosetta—because we wanted this show to bring a fuller, sharper perspective. You asked for more balance, more women at the table…and we listened.
For our comeback episode, the crew dives into that viral video—the woman crying in her car about feeling lost in her 7-year marriage. Was it real vulnerability, or just the wrong way to deal with relationship dissatisfaction? We’re breaking it down, calling it out, and pulling no punches.

Happy New Year everybody.
I can't be the only one frustrated with the ongoing 'gender war' conversations, feeling they have all become unproductive. this year, I aim to shift the focus of this podcast to exploring solutions and philosophical perspectives rather than just stating the problems. Overall, I want to move away from the divisive rhetoric and continue to work towards building unity within the Black community while providing decent music to vibe to.
Here's to the next 52 weeks and thank you for listening!
In this thought-provoking episode, we explore the deep-seated struggles faced by the Xennial/Millennial generation, highlighting the disconnect between the promises of a better life through education and the harsh realities that often follow. I reflect on my journey from college graduation to adulthood, grappling with feelings of disillusionment, depression, and the quest for contentment. Drawing parallels with the philosophical themes presented in The Matrix, the discussion delves into humanity's obsession with struggle and the challenges faced by the Black community in envisioning a brighter future. The episode underscores the importance of self-reflection, accountability, and the collective role we play in overcoming societal obstacles.

What does it mean to seek truth? How do we know when we've received justice? Philosophical ideas like justice have been debated for centuries but in the black community has the concept of eluded us as much as justice itself?

Shame. Insults. Guilt. Need to be Right. = S.I.G.N. Language
**File this one under INSULTS.**
It's past time we called a spade a spade. In defense of modest women everywhere, we call into question some of the nonsensical rhetoric spewed by chaotic women who continue to fracture the black community by projecting attributes of their debauchery toward those who call their actions into question. Today, we look at the insult aim at modest women, the term "pick-me" and how it equates to the principles of advertisement.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! In the debut episode of 2024, Kam and Alex discuss The Brick Lady and her impact (no pun intended) on the growing chasm in the black community between black men and women, plus, we call into question the added problems of negative imagery from the Color Purple film/book/stage play and the lens through which black women view their men.

In this B-Side episode:
Alex may have lost himself a bit in his red pill re-education. He can't seem to wrap his mind around the necessity for women and sh*t testing their men. Luckily his best friend Kam is there to help him work through his confusion. Does it help? Tune in to find out on today's B-Side conversation.

Here's a truth no one is ready to admit out loud: "nice guys" are liars and predators, they are opportunists who prey on the weaknesses of women; often waiting like a hunter for their target to show that one moment of weakness so he can pounce.
In this episode, Kam and Alex dissect the concept of the sneaky f*cker and how it is a fallacy men have to grow out of and a lie women need to watch out for. Join us, won't you?

Gentlemen,
Have you ever had moments in your dating career where no matter what you do, it's never good enough for your lady friend? You give too much, you spend too much time, you answer every text, every phone call, and she even has the password to your phone. Yet despite all this, You're either "too nice" or "you're doing too much" and she doesn't respect you. You're not alone and there's a reason your relationships are trash: your attachment style is trash.

A crippling delusion men operate in today is the unreasonable expectation that they have life all figured out at a young age instead of pacing themselves and learning, building, and growing to be the leaders they are expected to be in time.
Join the conversation as Alex and Kam discuss their views on the problem that cripples all men in general but black men specifically and probably the root cause of why so many choose to unsubscribe from life on today's episode.

What is the anatomy of a fatherless man? How does he define himself without the guidance of his father to model himself after? James Baldwin says that a boy who grows up without a father figure is responsible for going out and collecting them. But what does that look like? In this Season 4 premiere, Alex and Kam return to discuss the perils and dangers of Frankenstein's Monster which are the identity of many black men today, and what it means to be them. We've all heard the advice: "Happy wife, happy life", "The couple that plays/prays together, stays together", and of course, "Don't go to bed mad." Growing up, these cliches have permeated our dating culture and bled into marriages and after 15 years of marriage, you know what we realized? Just like a lot of advice given to millennials, by Gen X...It's all BS!
We're Kam and Ashley and in today's episode, we're going to tackle the horrible advice of not going to bed angry and tell you why you should do the exact opposite.

Representation. The Dark Triad/Tetrad. The Nature of Men.
It is no secret that the black community is in disrepair. If there was ever a moment to heed the canary in the coal mine, it is the infamous sistahood mantra "I don't need no man" that has been repeated for decades...even since most of us were babies.
The Unacceptable series comes to a conclusion with "The Nature of Men". In this cautionary episode, Kam and Alex talk about the forgotten savagery and potential evil of men and what it could be again if pushed too far; as well as reiterate the importance of men in the black community.

15 years. It's been 15 years since we started down this road together and in that time, we've both learned, grown, and changed. We've failed and succeeded, but we always did it together.
We're Kam and Ashley and we'd like to introduce ourselves and give our perspective on marriage in the black community to add to the conversation starting with today's topic, The contract.

Machiavellianism. Narcissism. Psychopathy. Sadism.
Four key psychological traits in all toxic relationships that many people rush towards. The Psychology community has dubbed these traits The Dark Tetrad. We seek these relationships perhaps out of naivete or the allure of danger, maybe out of a misplaced notion of curiosity or happenstance. Whatever the reason, we've all entertained toxic relationships - be they platonic or romantic - much to our detriment, and many of us still do.
In part 2 of the Unacceptable series, Kam and Alex explore and define The Dark Tetrad and give examples of traits we've been taught and learned to love, but are killing our community.

***THIS EPISODE WAS RECORDED BEFORE CARLEE RUSSELL'S CONFESSION TO THE HOAX OF HER KIDNAPPING***
“The most disrespected person in America is the black woman. The most unprotected person in America is the black woman. The most neglected person in America is the black woman.” - Malcolm X
This perspective from Brother Malcolm has been the most weaponized and misused in the modern age as validation for the degradation of black women and at one point in time...it was true. Today, feminism has convinced black women that they don't NEED black men in any capacity, and the sisterhood has made it IMPOSSIBLE TO CRITICIZE black women, their ideology, and their behavior. So what happens when black women are left to their own devices unchecked? What happens when they step out from the covering and protection men are meant to provide?
Alex and Kam discuss, in this first of three series, the unacceptable ambassadors that represent the black community at home and abroad that has us all experiencing second-hand shame. Come join us, won't you?
