How to Tell If Your Chanel Bag Is Fake...
Here's the deal, guys.
There are so many different ways to authenticate a bag depending on the brand, which is why it is so confusing when you are buying from the preloved market and you're wanting to authenticate your bag.
I wanted to go over a few of the tips and tricks of different things you need to be looking out for for fakes, as well as to authenticate correctly. There is so much misinformation out there when it comes to trying to authenticate yourself and there are so many third parties where one will say something is authentic and the next one won't.
The only thing consistent about Chanel is that it's inconsistent. They have changed their stance, their style, their font, their lettering so many times throughout the years it is insanely difficult to keep up.

Today is episode nine and it's going to be a doozy. We're getting a little controversial today because we are talking about the best and worst buys from every luxury brand.
What I was specifically talking about today is going to be pertaining to investment value because of course, this whole podcast is about luxury investments and how to turn your closet into an investment portfolio. So we're strictly talking about when you buy something from a brand, how much it appreciates or depreciates over a period of time in your closet.
So I'm going to be naming specifics. What is the best item from a brand that you can buy as far as investment value, as far as resale value, as far as asset value?
And the opposite. What is an item from that brand that depreciates in value the second you buy it? If you buy that item retail and walk out of the store and you went to go sell it straight away, you would not get your full investment out of it. You would get the worst return on investment out of all the other items in the store.

Is it worth it?
What's the difference?
What's costume jewelry vs. fine jewelry?
And then we're going to get into a bit of watches of what's an investment watch and how to get one.
What is an investment jewelry piece?
To answer that question, we really have to define two categories costume jewelry and fine jewelry. Most of the time when you're talking about fashion houses, they do have both for let's take Chanel, for example. They have costume jewelry and then they have a fine jewelry department.
They're fine Jewelry is much less popular than their costume jewelry. And it's not available in as many boutiques, for example. But it does exist. When you're talking about fine jewelry, you're talking about precious metals, gold, 24K gold, 18K gold, silver and stones, precious stones. And the on the opposite side of the spectrum, you have costume jewelry or fashion jewelry, which is most of the time low in metals that are coated with maybe a 24K gold, or they're coated with just a base metal in general.

This is one of the most asked questions on my instagram where I have a great community and that is because Hermès inherently is probably the pinnacle as far as investment value bags that you can buy. In the last episode we talked about Hermès bags being the poster child to this concept of buying something that immediately appreciates in value right when you walk out the store and that is because they don’t sell you more than two items a year in one boutique and you have to get offered one. This is their whole marketing strategy, having quota bags and making them "hard to get". We automatticly associate something that is hard to get as something more valuable.
This gives us an idea on why developing a good relationship with your asset is important in order to gain confidence and be able to score an Hermès Bag. We are talking about increasing your chances on how to get offered a bag from an asset. What kind of strategies we can approach in order to gain your assets confidence so they trust you enough to be offered the best items on Hermès.
We also discuss about the different approaches we need to take when trying to score a bag.
