LAPD Biggest Scandal Fired Officer Tells All

Los Angeles, the city of angels. Home to one of the most powerful police forces in the country. But behind the badge and the blue, a dark reality exists—one that many officers are too afraid to talk about.Gabriel Cabrera isn’t afraid. A former LAPD officer, Army veteran, and dedicated public servant, he now finds himself protesting outside LAPD headquarters. After nearly 15 years on the force, he was fired under questionable circumstances. His crime? Contracting meningitis on duty, surviving a coma, and returning to work with a disability. This documentary tells the story of how the LAPD systematically removes injured officers, denying them full pensions and forcing them out to avoid financial liability. Gabriel was offered a medical pension of only 20% of his base pay—practically nothing. When he refused, he was assigned the least desirable position in the department, pressured to quit, and ultimately fired after a personal dispute was used as a pretext for his termination.According to LAPD records, over 80% of officers who sustain career-ending injuries are pressured to leave the force. Many, like Gabriel, are denied fair pensions, leaving them without financial security. Gabriel’s first union-appointed attorney even told him directly: “They’re not firing you because of the complaint. They’re firing you because of your disability.”But Gabriel refuses to stay silent. He has taken his fight to the streets, protesting in front of LAPD headquarters and the Police Commission, demanding justice. This film follows his journey, exposing the system that failed him and so many others.Gabriel can’t do this alone. His fight isn’t just for himself—it’s for every officer discarded by a broken system. If you believe in accountability, take action.Contact the LAPD Police Commission and Mayor Karen Bass to demand justice:LAPD Police Commission:Executive Director Mr. Sibley – N3042@lapd.onlineCommissioner Teres Sanchez Gordon – N7553@lapd.onlinePolice Commission President Dr. Erroll G.
