The Best Sinatra Album you've NEVER Heard
Forget "My Way" for a minute, Don't go flying to the moon in a hurry... there is an album you NEED to listen to.  In 1969 Frank Sinatra's sales weren't what they used to be, he needed something to spark his creativity and get him back into the swing of things. Sinatra was presented with a concept for an album which told a story, one of heartbreak and loss.  He loved the idea and with an exceptional story, Frank Sinatra recorded the vocals for "Watertown"... the best album you've never heard. Lost in the summer of love the album didn't sell well and only now is it truly revered by musicians and regarded as a masterpiece! On this episode of The Liner Notes, we discuss the album concept, it's artwork and the music. Sharing is caring and we think that you NEED to hear this album.  THANKS to everyone who has supported us so far, we hope you enjoy.  Email us your thoughts at thelinernotespodcast.social@gmail.com Instagram - @thelinernotespodcast Facebook - @thelinernotespcast  Twitter  - @linerpodcast  Much Love,  Ben, Michael and John The Liner Notes Listen to the album here...  Youtube  Apple Music

Sideliner Notes - Ben Needs Doctor Sleep

WE DID IT - We went to see "Doctor Sleep", the sequel to "The Shining". In this mini, easy going episode we give our (positive) thoughts on the new film without ANY spoilers! We also take some time to delve into the world of conspiracy theories.

"The Shining" has long been associated with a plethora of conspiracy theories, including a the idea that the film is a representation of the native American genocide, the gold rush and even subliminal psychology - We take a look at our favourites from the documentary "Room 237"  by Rodney Asch.

Ben has a new fondness for Advocaat, Michael talks of his relationship with Julie his next door neighbour and John is sad to be at the end of our episodes on the Shining. Enjoy the out of context Spaghetti Western jingle and our second ever Sideliner Notes Episode!

It would be fair to say that after making these episodes we have a new found love for everything "THE SHINING" and we hope you enjoy our northern thoughts and theories on one of our favourite films!

If you would like to listen to some Penderecki:

An Evening at the Overlook - Pt.1

Boo! It’s spooky season! With Halloween just around the corner we thought we would dedicate October to our favourite Horror film “The Shining” Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece of movie making is loved and loathed by many.

We love it, not only for the beautiful cinematography and Jack Nicholson being... well Jack Nicholson but we love it because of the MUSIC!

Join us for part 1 of “An Evening at the Overlook” We will be discussing sound design, avant-garde composers, orchestrating madness!

Sit tight for some rubbish Shelly Duvall impressions, our spooky jingles and best of all some waffling about music! X
