You know those moments when everything clicks — when your inner growth suddenly connects to something much bigger than yourself?
That’s exactly what happened when I returned from the Inner Development Goals Summit in Stockholm.
Picture this: 800 people from across the world: youth activists, CEOs, artists, educators, all gathered with one shared intention: to grow the inner capacities humanity needs to create a more compassionate, regenerative world. 🌍
It was moving, confronting, and deeply inspiring, a reminder that personal transformation and planetary transformation are inseparable.
In this episode, I share what I learned about leadership, courage, and hope, and why the way we lead today can help shape a more connected, conscious tomorrow.
🌿 What You’ll Learn
This episode closes with my heartfelt “My Wish for the World” manifesto, a vision of honesty, kindness, and courage guiding how we live and lead.

Because extraordinary leadership starts on the inside. đź’«
When you hear someone speak from the heart, it lands differently.
This episode is packed with warmth, insight, and inspiration thanks to my incredible guest and fellow Inner Development Goals (IDG) Ambassador, Maria De Palacio, joining us from Madrid.
Maria is an impact investing powerhouse, an intuitive leader, and someone who walks her talk when it comes to purpose-driven leadership.
We unpack so much goodness—from how she found the IDGs and followed her purpose to leave her CFO role, to the power of microfinance and her deep belief in sport, teamwork and the magic of human connection.
Maria also opens up about a transformational moment in nature that gave her the courage to step into a new season of her life. Her story is a beautiful example of what happens when head, heart, and inspired action align—which is exactly what my Empowered Leadership Method is all about.
This is one to listen to when you need to remember that your fear is not your enemy, and that sometimes, real leadership is about embracing vulnerability, trusting your inner compass, and backing yourself.
KEY TAKEAWAYS:
✨ Impact investing isn’t just about financial returns—it’s about creating meaningful, measurable social and environmental impact. Maria explains the triple lens: risk, return, and impact.
✨ You don’t need to wait for perfect clarity. Maria shares how curiosity led her from a career in finance to a purpose-driven leadership role.
✨ The IDG framework offers a powerful lens for leadership development, particularly in five areas: being, thinking, relating, collaborating, and acting.
✨ The separation between personal and professional identity is outdated. Real impact comes when you bring your whole self to your work.
✨ Vulnerability, when used with wisdom, builds trust and unlocks team performance.
✨ Nature is a profound teacher. Maria shares a moving reflection on walking the IDG compass and embracing the symbolic journey of letting go, facing the unknown, and stepping into new beginnings.
✨ Courage isn’t the absence of fear. It’s deciding to take action even when your voice shakes.

Genevieve đź’—
Imagine a world where cities invite you to slow down. Where growth isn’t measured by profits, but by purpose. And where urban design is deeply rooted in inner development and collective flourishing. Today’s conversation will open your mind, and your heart.
In this beautifully rich episode of The Impactors Podcast, I sit down with Jan Albert Eckert, a post-growth urbanist, lifelong learner, and fellow Inner Development Goals (IDG) Ambassador.
Jan brings a fresh and deeply thoughtful perspective on how our inner worlds shape the outer world—and why we need a radical shift in how we design everything from city spaces to leadership mindsets.
What’s “post-growth urbanism”? What does “less is more” look like in practice? And how can we all start shifting away from individualism and towards a more connected, hopeful future?
Whether you’re a new leader, a changemaker, or just feeling a little overwhelmed by the state of the world, this episode is packed with wisdom, realness, and quiet revolution.
KEY LEARNINGS + TAKEAWAYS
✅ Post-Growth 101: Why traditional economic growth models are outdated—and what “post-growth” could mean for the future of leadership and urban design.
✅ The Power of Inner Development: How frameworks like the IDGs are not just “nice to haves,” but essential tools for creating systems-level change.
âś… Leadership is not a solo act: The importance of community and surrounding yourself with people who lift you up and challenge the status quo.
✅ Hope as a leadership strategy: How to stay inspired in a world that often feels overwhelming—and why designing with hope can be revolutionary.
âś… Think less about yourself: A powerful mindset shift that unlocks connection, compassion, and long-term impact.
QUOTES TO REMEMBER:
“The greater the people are around you, the more you can learn from them—and maybe even challenge the system you’re embedded in.”
“Let’s stop measuring cities—and leadership—by speed and efficiency. What if presence, connection, and contemplation were the goal?”
“Hope is the design ability of change. It’s not just about dreaming. It’s about doing.”

Leadership Coach for Women Impactors
There’s something magnetic about hearing another woman speak from the heart about stepping into her purpose. It lights a fire in us. This episode is one of those moments — and I’m still buzzing.
Rafaela Rolim, Brazilian social entrepreneur, IDG global coordinator, and co-founder of immersive leadership journeys, joined me for a deeply inspiring conversation on how inner development fuels real-world impact.
Her journey from hospitality to human development is rich with lessons in courage, empathy, and values-aligned leadership — and let’s just say, it’s the kind of conversation that makes you want to act. Not out of fear, but out of care.
As women navigating new leadership spaces, we need more of this: soul-led action grounded in strategy and clarity. This episode beautifully reinforces everything the Empowered Leadership Method stands for — aligning head, heart, and inspired action so you can become the impactful leader you’re here to be.
Pull up a seat, grab your cuppa, and let this one really land in your heart.
✨ Key Takeaways You’ll Love:
1. Your heart knows the way — and you’re allowed to follow it.
Rafaela’s turning point came through witnessing deep inequality — and letting it move her into action. Her story reminds us that impact begins when we allow ourselves to be transformed too.
2. Leadership isn’t just outer – it’s deeply inner.
The Inner Development Goals (IDGs) give language to the invisible work we do as leaders: cultivating presence, resilience, empathy and clarity, so we can show up powerfully in the world.
3. From Ego to Eco: the shift that changes everything.
This isn’t just a cute phrase — it’s a real mindset shift that moves us from individual success to collective impact. Rafaela’s work shows how expanding our view creates exponential change.
4. Align with people who share your values.
One of her biggest leadership lessons? Stop wasting energy trying to convince misaligned partners. Find the people already on your wavelength. There’s power (and peace) in working with the right people.
5. Activism starts with everyday choices.
From reducing plastic waste to challenging hotels on sustainability practices, Rafaela and I both shared stories of turning discomfort into courageous action — at home, with family, even on holidays.
6. Theory U & the power of reflection.
Theory U (a free course!) teaches us how to lead from the future — not the past. For new leaders, this is gold. It shows how deep listening, embodied wisdom, and bold imagination can guide your leadership forward.
7. Inspiration is a lifeline.
Hope doesn’t just come from ideas — it comes from witnessing others doing the work. That’s why this conversation is so powerful. It fuels you to keep going, knowing you’re not alone.

Welcome to The Impactors Podcast- a space where ambitious women leaders can learn how to unlock their inner power by cultivating unstoppable self-belief in themselves to drive meaningful change in the world.
Hello, my name is Genevieve Hodge, I’m a Leadership Coach for millennial Female Leaders, and an Inner Development Goals (IDG) Ambassador.
My journey led me to Sweden last year, where I uncovered a confronting truth: the sustainability crisis is a human crisis- a crisis of disconnection within ourselves, with each other, and with our planet.
The United Nations created the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to solve global issues like climate change and inequality, yet progress remains slow. Why? Because the biggest barrier isn’t external, it’s internal. WE lack the inner capacity for change.
That’s why the IDGs were developed- a framework of 5 human dimensions and 23 skills, backed by top academics from around the world including Harvard University’s Flourishing Institute and leading sustainability scientists, designed to strengthen self-awareness, resilience, and ethical leadership.
Studies show that inner development leads to sustainable action and that’s exactly what this podcast is about.
