Geek Network once again dives into the pit. They had the honor to sit down and speak to Max Cavalera the cofounder of Sepultura the heavy metal Brazilian band who has made waves through the music industry about their sophomore album with one of his most current bands “Go Ahead and Die.”
This album was conceived during the COVID time. The themes of “Unhealthy Mechanisms” has to do with a dystopian future, and the route we are heading down if we don’t learn to live and accept one another as a society.
One of the biggest highlights from this interview is that Max spoke about what the metal community is all about. He squashed the stereotype that all metal heads are satanic and violent people. On the contrary it’s not about that at all. When he meets fans they’re full of love and emotion, and smile the brightest. They also have an amazing energy that no one else can bring. Lastly, he has seen multiple people falling down in the pit and fellow members of the pit help that person up so they can continue moshing. Max also days with being part of a big rock and metal loving community that we can help each other heal with the power of music.
