For Luang Por Laai - Dhamma for the Living and the Dead (talk 1)
This episode is a talk given by Ajahn Gunhah Sukakhamo in commemoration of one of his senior disciples, Niphon Upakaro Bhikkhu, also known as Luang Por Laai. This talk comes from a booklet called “Dhamma for the Living and the Dead” which commemorates senior disciples that have died. Luang Por is an honorific meaning “Venerable Father”. Luang Por Laai was a senior bhikkhu at Wat Pah Subthawee. He was 62 years old and had 26 rains retreats as a bhikkhu. He had had cancer for a long time and spent the vassa at a different place. One evening in mid-September, Luang Por Laai phoned Luang Por Gunhah because he was still afraid of dying. Luang Por Gunhah instructed him on how to separate body, feeling and mind, so that the mind would remain peaceful even though the body was dying. This teaching became the theme for many weeks during and after the funeral chanting. --- Forest Path Podcast Support the Forest Path Podcast via Ko-fi

Come and See | Ajahn Funn Ācāro
This episode is a talk given by the Thai forest meditation master Ajahn Funn Ācāro and it’s titled “Come and See”. The Lord Buddha described the Dhamma as ehipassiko. That is, it’s open for anyone to come and see the nature of existence for themselves. Ajahn Funn gives a clear dhamma talk on how we are to come and see the Dhamma for ourselves. This teaching was translated by Thanissaro Bhikkhu and was made available for free distribution in the publication “Come and See” which was published in 2018. There is a link to the original below. And a quick note: This text did unfortunately contain dozens of grammatical errors. English grammar can be very tricky, especially for those who use it as a second language. I have tried to correct these errors as a narrated the text but apologize if I didn’t navigate all of these correctly. In any case, I thought that the subject of the talk was one that was important and it comes from an esteemed teacher making it worthwhile relating this teaching to listeners of this podcast. The Quickest Way | Ajahn Gunhah
This episode is a series of quotes attributed to Ajahn Gunhah. It’s titled “The Quickest Way” and has been translated by Ajahn Nyanadhammo. As this is a series of quotes rather than a dhamma talk, there will be a brief two or three second pause between each quote. This is so that you can distinguish that a new quote is coming up, and perhaps also for you to pause the audio to reflect upon a point being made in by the previous quote. This witness account appears in the biography of Luang Por Chob called “Ṭhānasamopūjā" in the chapter "Ācariya Mun Bhūridatto attains to the Dhamma-element".
