There was a time when it was illegal for a school to open without having a nurse on duty. And 0% of schools had their own police officer. Now, in North Carolina at least, approximately 75% of public schools are without a nurse on any given day. Yet nearly 100% of them have at least one full-time police officer. It seems the school nurse has been replaced by the school police officer.
