I just received my purple belt in Gracie Barra BJJ. I have been training martial arts for 15 years, and Have a black belt in Okinawan karate, and am ranked in 3 other styles, and have longtime experience in 18 (goju-ryu, Ishin-ryu, American kenpo, shotokan, taekwondo, Hakka, hung-gar, wing chin, tai-chi, aikido, boxing, Muay Thai, Dutch kickboxing, wrestling, judo, BJJ, and some capoeira) different martial arts total. I have been doing Mma for about 10 years, with various BJJ and wrestling training. I put the gi on for BJJ for the first time 3 years ago, and worked hard to obtain my purple belt. I talk about my martial arts journey and some details, and how BJJ and martial arts are a representation and metaphor for life itself. All of the struggles both external and internal will show themselves throughout your journey. And all of the obstacles you will face and overcome, will help you tackle and overcome life’s obstacles as well. I am honored to receive my belt, because I know what it took to get this far, and many don’t get there. I consider myself a lifelong martial artist, and this means a lot to me, because it’s considered the threshold of a serious practitioner bs a person who Just loves to occasionally train. I’d love to discuss martial arts if anyone wishes to personally message me.
