Fresh off of Fantastic Fest in Austin Texas we get an in depth look into the award winning film The Vile with director Majid Al Ansari. The Vile is brought to you by the producers of films such as Insidious, Late Night With The Devil, Weapons, and gave us such a unique experience into the world of genre films with this Emirati feature. With the foundation of drama, polygamous relationship, and the effects it has on families in Muslim culture this could have been a movie on it's own without the horror elements, but as Majid sprinkles in black magic and supernatural forces around the events, he turns this riveting family drama into an even wilder ride. Was so cool to pick his brain and get even more layers on how this came to be and how this film is going against the grain of how the majority of movies are made in his country.

Today we are joined with Ricardo and Daniel of the Empanadas Ilegales who recently dropped "Sancocho Trifásico" which is one of the coolest sounding albums we have heard all year. They explain that this project was created by staying true to their influences and how in a live performance atmosphere they have what they call "The Beetlejuice Effect" where their playing causes people to uncontrollably dance. They also explain their band name and give us a history lesson of a time where being a street vender was considered breaking the law and an old lady refused to stop selling her empanadas.

Episode 263 feat The Father of E-Sports WALTER DAY (King Of Kong / Arcades & Love Songs)
Today we are joined with the father of e-sports Walter Day! You may have been introduced to Walter many years ago through the popular Netflix documentary The King Of Kong and he is back as the main focus in a heartwarming new film titled Arcades & Love Songs. There is a brief moment in The King Of Kong showing Walter playing his guitar and saying he was going to quit the gaming industry and become a musician. That stuck with the documentary team and many years later they decided to take a deeper look into what he meant by that and ended up unexpectedly capturing the most beautiful journey. Walter began hearing original songs in his head after getting his heart broken in 1985, and since then he has wrote hundreds of songs about this woman that never saw the light of day. In this film not only does he reunite with her to tell her that, but at the age of 70 embarks on a career in music, records an album, and through the inspiration of his new appreciation for Taylor Swift ends up playing his very first gig. I can't say enough about how wonderful this documentary is. It will leave you inspired, and may even bring a lil tear to your eye. Was amazing to have this chat as well with Walter and get some extra layers and context on his beautiful journey. Episode 259 featuring Lunatic / Luna Vachon Doc (Director Kate Kroll)
Today we are joined with filmmaker/pro wrestler Kate Kroll to take a further dive into her incredible documentary "Lunatic" that tells the many layers and legacy of the legendary wrestler Luna Vachon. Personally as a Luna fan I have seen many showcases on her story and this is hands down the best one. Beyond talking about the tragedy around Luna's journey, it shines a light on how much of a pioneer she was for all women in professional wrestling. Kate's crew also discovered some fascinating VHS tapes from a promotion called Wild Women Of Wrestling that have not been seen by the public since the 1980's. Beyond finding even more layers of untold truths this documentary also touches on mental health awareness, gave us an understanding and empathy to those who suffer from bipolar disorder, while also acknowledging how traumas of the past can shape your actions in the future. Whether you are a wrestling fan or not, in the bigger picture this is a story that is for everybody and I am very proud to share this film with some extra context from the director with you today. This year during our adventures at Toronto Comicon we had the pleasure to have quality sit down with George Buza to talk about his returning role as BEAST in the X-Men 97 series. The most fascinating thing about George's iconic X-Men journey is just how much layered correlations he has had in his real life that relates to Beast character. It's kind of spooky in a way. Also around absolutely geeking out this turned into such a soulful introspective chat and a must listen to for any fans on the series. When George was asked by people "Why is this show so much darker than it was in the 90's" he explains that it's because the world is so much harder to live in. X-Men has always been a reflection of both social and political climates, and he gives us a little teaser of how the upcoming Seasons 2 & 3 may get even crazier as the writers pull from our reality, but the spirit of the show isn't all doom and gloom. The true spirit of the show is the perspective for those who have the hope for those who believe in a hope for peace and equality.

Episode 256 feat Goldy lockS (Singer/Songwriter & TNA Wrestling Original)
Today we are joined with singer/songwriter and TNA Wrestling original Goldy lockS! She joins us today to tell us about one of her new singles with country singer and former WWE Women's Champion Mickie James titled "I Didn't Know". Also like the title of that track we DIDN'T KNOW that this would end up being one of the realest chats we ever had on this show as Goldy tells us this riveting tale of what happened to her after TNA Wrestling. She explains how she simultaneously got fired from the company, lost her record deal, and was being hunted down by the IRS for an astronomical amount of money all in the same week. From Hollywood glitz and glamour, to absolute rock bottom and living in complete poverty. Goldy explains in great detail of what happened and how she bounced back. Also explains how all of this may have just been a big ego check for her from the universe. The perspective she has gained is pretty powerful, and also for those who are into the wrestling "shoot" interviews she has a lot to say about Abyss, Dutch Mantell, Jeff Jarret, Jimmy Hart and more. Nothing is held back! I also would like to dedicate this interview to anyone who is down on their luck. Hope you all can find some motivation in this chat to never give up.
