Set in post Civil War America, a stagecoach hurtles through the wintry Wyoming landscape. The passengers, John the Hangman Ruth, a notorious bounty hunter and his fugitive, Daisy Domergue, race towards the town of Red Rock where justices awaits Daisy at the end of a hangman’s rope. Along the road they encounter two strangers, Major Marquis Warren, a black former Union soldier turned infamous bounty hunter and Chris Mannix, a southern renegade who claims to be the new sheriff of Red Rock. A raging blizzard forces the quartet to seek refuge at Minnie’s Haberdashery where they encounter four additional unknown faces, Bob, a Mexican man who claims to be taking care of Minnie’s while the proprietor is visiting her mother, Oswaldo Mobray, Red Rock’s Hangman, Joe Gage, a cow puncher head home for Christmas and Confederate General Sanford Smithers. As the storm overtakes the mountain, our eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all.
