S2 E3 - World, Meet Jessica Lavallee, "Small Town Girl"

On Todays Podcast We Have My Incredible Guest Jessica Lavallee, Born on the northern reaches of Newfoundland and Labrador, Jessica Lavallee was raised in the remote village  on the lower north shore of Quebec, an area unique to the province due to its proximity to Newfoundland and Labrador, and Canada's east coast.

Jessica's love and natural ear for music began when she was just two years old while listening to her father - also a musician - play the guitar, fiddle, accordion, and harmonica. Jessica made her debut at six years old with her father's band, playing in a local festival in Labrador close to home. Influenced by many music styles like; classic country, Irish, Blues and Southern Rock she blends them with her unique, powerful voice and sings stories that stay true to her roots.

A graduate of the Music Industry and Performance program at the College of the North Atlantic in Stephenville, NL, Jessica was twice featured on Canadian Idol and made top ten on Country Music Television's Karaoke Star. For the past few years Jessica has played in local clubs and festivals around the 1000 Islands, busy writing and performing music whenever she has the opportunity.

"HEY JOKER, GAME OVER!" - S2E2 - Nicole Rayy

On Today's Podcast We Have My Incredible Guest Nicole Rayy! Four-time CMA Ontario nominee Nicole Rayy has been writing her own songs since she was a teenager, and her talent launched her into the Canadian Country music scene in 2012 with the release of her debut EP “Only Everything”. But it was her second album, “Dig,” that really solidified her as a force to be reckoned with within the Canadian country scene.

Soon after she found herself playing festivals like The Calgary Stampede, Dauphin’s Countryfest, Manitoulin CountryFest – and opening up for country music powerhouses like Aaron Pritchett and Brett Kissel. She’s even had the experience of performing at the World Music Festival in Shanghai, China, for four years in a row (2015-2018), proving to be a hit among Shanghai’s enthusiastic crowds.   Her latest single, House of Cards released Everrywhere Friday January 21st and already has surpassed 3000 streams on Spotify, hoping it reaches the same heights as her single just before this, Feels like Yesterday, which is nearing Half a Million Streams!

EP 16: CAN I GET A SIDE OF SMALLTOWN? W/ HAYLEY VERRALL

Burlington, Ontario, Canada country pop singer/songwriter Hayley Verrall is a fresh young artist who has quietly but quickly been edging her way into the Canadian country music community over the past couple years with her roots and contemporary inspired original music.

Hayley has been honoured to present her original music opening shows for, working with and alongside other iconic Canadian musicians. About songwriting Hayley says:

“While our musical journeys are all at different points and our original music may differ in style, as musicians I think we share the same inspirations. Our music comes out of our day, from whatever we are doing at the time. We write music about ourselves, our experiences, and the experiences of our friends, family and those we meet. We are always on the lookout for a good story that says who we are but which also feels like it could be someone else’s story, too. We write about life, love and the world, and hope that people will be inspired or encouraged if they are going through the same things.”

EP. 14 - DOIN THE RATTLESNAKE BITE WITH KADOOH!

Today, We talk to Alberta's Own, Kadooh. After over a decade in the music business known as the guitarist and backing vocalist of the INCREDIBLE rock band State of Shock, Kadooh took to music looking at a new path, crossing into the country genre and stepping into front and center stage as a solo artist. Now Kadooh has been in the country genre since 2018, but his musical influences expand well into the classics like the great Charley Pride and Conway Twitty, and as a guitarist wore out Garth Brooks, John Micheal Montgomery and Brooks and Dunn records again and again.

In 2018, his very first year, Kadooh won his very first country music award earning the Ray McAuley Horizon Award at the BCCMA's. Continue to 2019 where he released his self titled EP and went back to BCCMA's and picked up Video of the Year for Somethin to Roll on.

Now, Kadooh has released a new track entitled Rattlesnake bite, extremely catchy, a completely new sound in my opinion, i cant think of another song that it reminds me of in todays country music genre. The single has is now on all major streaming platforms, radio stations around the country can request this single, its on SiriusXM AND, is becoming one of the LATEST TikTok Trends. Did I also mention he's been working hand in hand with Chad Kroger and Jeff Johnson???? Only Two Pioneers of Canadian Music in GENERAL!

Ep 12 - CMAO WINNERS AND DEBORAH LYNN!

When you think of Reba, Martina Mcbride, Trisha Yearwood, Carrie Underwood and Tenille Townes, they all have something incredibly in common with todays artist. Their voices truly unique.

On Todays Episode We have Award winning country singer/songwriter Deborah Lynn. Now Deb was born and raised in Stirling Ontario. Country roots with musical influences in folk and classic rock paired with her incredible vocal talent consistently leave audiences wanting to hear more. Deborah Lynn has been singing and playing guitar since she was young. After college she started a small business in Toronto and entrepreneurship did not leave much time for music but her first trip to Nashville in 2018 sparked her love for country music again. Deborah was lucky enough to play the songwriter's open mic at the iconic Bluebird Café and joined the house band on stage for a couple songs at the famed Tootsies on Broadway.

Proud CCMA and CMAO member Deborah Lynn released her debut single April 17th, 2020 called Revive a Ghost. It quickly rose to Number 1 on the Canadian Indie Country Countdown. Ep 8 - Jeff Catto

Now on todays podcast we have Mr. Jeff Catto.

Originally hailing from Owen Sound Ont, Jeff’s career started out on the farm, writing songs and

singing at the local country jamboree. With aspirations of becoming a country music star, he got

to open up for Sean Hogan, Diane Chase, Duane Steele, Gil Grand and Jake Matthews on

Sean’s annual Christmas tour.

After high school, Jeff toured Canada playing bars and events, opening for Deric Ruttan, Gord

Bamford and playing the small town circuit.

He then approached Aaron Pritchett with the single Summertime, which Aaron cut and was able

to play some events with him.

After some years off, Jeff found faith and began working on his craft and releasing Christian

music to radio garnering 15 top 10 singles in Canada and playing over 200 shows a year.

He is now back at it in the country music scene with his new single Round Of Life.

Ep 4 - Aaron Allen
On This Episode Of The Podcast, We Talk With 2020 CMAO Rising Star Of The Year Winner, and 2021 Male Artist of the Year and Album Of the year Nominee, Aaron Allen! Aaron’s story will sound familiar to many.  Faced with some serious personal challenges as he entered his teenage years, country music became his lifeline and songwriting the outlet for his pain and frustration.  Allen made a promise to himself that he would make country music his career, even though – thanks to his wife – tattooing eventually helped pay the bills. “All I had was my voice and a guitar so country music was really the only way to go for me,” Allen says.  “I’ve always loved how simple and direct great country songs are.  They go straight to the heart and that’s what I’ve always tried to achieve with songs I write. I feel like my favourite artists are speaking specifically to me and I hope people have that feeling when they hear my songs.” NEXT WEEKS GUEST : CHRISTINA ROGERS!
