Prayer is an intimate conversation with God that I sometimes overthink because I believe there is an art to praying. In this episode I share my awkward thoughts.
One thing about me is that when I face a challenge, my knee-jerk reaction is to talk to myself or call a friend. I do this not because I seek a solution, rather to just vent about my frustration with the challenge. I've now been challenged to do things differently.

Have you ever heard the saying, 'when you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail'? Are you in the habit of preparing yourself to receive the blessings you've asked of God?

When it comes to a relationship with yourself, it's become important to save time to pursue yourself, your desires, and your needs. It's safe to describe this effort as self-love. I chat with Andile Mbete about what self-love is for him and tap into his thoughts about love languages and how he applies those to how he treats himself.
Saying the words 'I love you' is something I don't find easy to say. When I do say it, I have a huge lump in my throat afterward because I begin to question whether I'm sure of what I've just said and can live up to the expectations that (in my mind) come with those three words.
Am I the only one who's like this?

There are many difficult phases in relationships and one that we're never prepared for is when a relationship becomes unhealthy. Anxiety is something that is triggered by stress and part of the advice to deal with anxiety includes facing the source of that anxiety with the understanding that we can beat it. I'm reminded that God is our source of strength and it's time to hand the things we cannot control, over to him. He is, after all, our strength.

Hey all! Welcome to The Awkward Dive. In this first episode, I dive into friendship and why we treat platonic friendship so differently from romantic friendship. A subject we're all familiar with because from birth we've been encouraged to have friends. To have people with whom we can share our life and experiences and possibly grow old together. Sounds more like our idea of romantic companionship, doesn't it? Listen.
