Welcome to Episode 09 of The समानता Show. I apologise for the delay in the release of this episode. This episode will leave parents thinking of their contributions towards gender equality. Before recording this episode. I sat down with my nephews & asked them to one of these - A Pilot, An Astronaut & A Doctor with a name. What you see on the cover of this episode is what they have drawn. Out of my 4 nephews, only one drew a female. A pilot - Meera. The others drew Dr. Drishaan, Dr. Maulick & Astronaut Tom. This is a sad reality that out kids think of a man whenever powerful career options are talked of. It is time to question our generational parenting.

Last week, we had a chance to watch The Kerala Story! We have some indifferent observations for you from a perpective of Gender Equality. Indian parenting today forms the basis of any value. The समानता Show brings in the comnection between Indian parenting, The movie - The Kerala Story & Gender Equality. The freedom that we do not give our children but end up giving them in the later years of life only brings in misuse & instance like The Kerala Story!

बहू कोब बेटी जैसे रखेगे, क्यों भाई ? क्योंकि बहू की इज़्ज़त नहीं होती, उनके साथ हमेशा ख़राब व्यवहार ही होता है? Because in our society we think daughters are treated well but not daughter in laws. If you can imagine your daughter/son to be in a place like your husband or wife & treated in the same manner that you are treated right now & makes you happy & content? If yes, you are a gem my friend! But, if it does not make you happy or leaves your worried, you know what you have to change!

We explored Gender Stereotypes, Impact of these stereotypes on genders & what has happened because we follow them. In this race we are humans first & our genders come later. Bharat Bhagyavidhata! Till this day & age there are laws which supports a specific gender. When we think deep, yes! They are still there & we live with it. Our generation is the most evolved & capable to drive changes. It is our time to change!
