In this episode, we've got an absolutely incredible guest, Nicola McDougall. She has been a continual award-winning journalist, writer and editor in Australia and New Zealand since 1998. She's co-authored an incredible bestseller book, The Female Investor. Over the period from 2003- 2004 she won the Queensland Media Award for best journalist a number of times, a finalist in coverage of disability issues in the same year after a two-year stint as editor at a lifestyle and arts paper in New Zealand, she joined the Real Estate Institute of Queensland and in 2006 she then progressively moved up the ranks to become the executive manager of corporate affairs. Over that time, she's had an incredible amount of exposure to the real estate industry and real estate investing. Then, she spent 18 months as the authorised RACQ spokesperson across the state in Queensland, including the chairman and the CEO. In early 2014 she was appointed the editor of the Australian Property Investor API magazine and was the most trusted and widely read National Property Investment Magazine in Australia and distributed globally over the period that she was there as the chief editor. In 2011 she completed a master of creative industries degree, with a distinction grade point average. She wrote then her own first novel in 2017. She won the best media report with the real estate investment industry association. And then she went on to start her current business, Bricks and Mortar, which is an incredible media and PR agency for the real estate industry. But more importantly in this conversation, we are talking about this incredible bestselling book that's just hit the charts. Our next guest on Talking Business is an incredible person that I've crossed paths with recently. He is the president and creative director of an organisation called Spirit Media. That organisation was founded in January of 1992 and has had an incredible journey as most organisations do pivoting backwards and forwards like a yacht tacking in the wind. He's worked with some incredible talent both both corporate from the likes of Adidas, ESPN, Lightspeed Aviation, the Mazda Corporation, Nike, Pixel Works, some incredible organisations. He's on the board at Tech Labs after doing some work with them. Some incredible not for profit organisations including the Red Cross, the Christian Values Network. Something that's close to my heart, the Boy Scouts Association. Some incredible entertainers of the likes of Alec Baldwin, Arnold Schwarzenegger, some incredible people. One of my favourite bands, The Black Eyed Peas. He's got some incredible insights from lessons that he's learnt from working with Gwen Stefani. He's an advisory board member at Tech Labs which is a really exciting organisation in Albion and Oregon he's on the board of directors of Greater Portland Incorporated and also on the board of directors at Light Speed Aviation. Now the thing that I'm going to be investigating with Bill and the thing that I love most and you can't Google this is some of his time from 1979 to 1992 with Walt Disney television and that is some of the foundations of people's careers that I do love to explore here at Talking Best Practice. Welcome back to Best Practice TV. My next guest on Talking Business with Kobi Simmat is someone that I'm a huge fan of. I buy his merchandise; this is his side hustle, which is really exciting, and I'll talk about that in a second. This guy is a hustling entrepreneur. He is side by side with one of the most creative entrepreneurs on the planet. Probably ‘the guy’ that's known for entrepreneurship on the planet Gary Vaynerchuk. This guy we're talking to today, the very handsome David Rock is executive creative director for Team Gary Vee. I have been following David's work since the Gary Vee YouTube channel had 24,000 subscribers. He's producer, director, videographer, counsellor, driver, Uber partner for Gary Vaynerchuk. He's the founder of New York-based luxury fashion brand, Made By. He's helped Gary Vaynerchuk grow his two YouTube channels but lots of other YouTube channels from when I started following 24, 000 subscribers to 4.482 million subscribers. He's assisted in creating the content and the creative for Gary Vaynerchuk's Instagram account and a number of Instagram accounts to a total of 10.2 million followers. He's helped assist and he's been on the journey from musically to TikTok to a TikTok account that's now got 13.3 million followers. He's helped build a LinkedIn account for Gary Vaynerchuk and create the content for that and be part of the creative team that's nearly at 5 million followers. He's grown his own Instagram account to 150,000 followers, his LinkedIn account at 14,000 followers. He's responsible for the ideas, the outward looking observation, the trends analysis, the pattern recognition, the creating the informing, the content strategy, the content structure on a minute-by-minute, day-by-day basis for Gary Vaynerchuk. He's involved in so many other brands through Vayner X and everything that's going on. I want to welcome you to this incredible person who is one of my biggest heroes, David Rock.
