Are you receiving the customer service you are entitled or are you accepting lack lustered customer service as the normal?
I guess you could say that most of my career has been about customer service. In fact, in many of the occupations I have been on the front line. From being a Bus Operator, Mail Carrier, Restaurant Manager, Senior Customer Service Representative in a walk-in office, Insurance Agent, Car and Furniture Salesperson. This is not to mention my career on the phones in a customer service and collections, in banking and Public Utility. I have always strived to give superior customer service in some pretty heated confrontations while having to deliver, not so pleasant and desired information. Hey, I guess it is just in my blood.
Delivering the type of service, I have strived to deliver and even having executives of the organizations, I represented, coming to me personally and introducing themselves and telling me of their observation of such service, has given me the acknowledgement of a "Job Well done."
Well, you can say because I give it, I expect it in return, I think this is just fair. Even when I encounter a representative that is not giving the best service, I give them an opportunity to turn the tide and end in a positive note. But what about the ones that you have attempted to give the benefit of the doubt and they still don’t change? Do you feel that the customer service you receive is meeting or failing the grade? Communication is as old as creation. As centuries have passed and technology has advanced, we seem to do less in verbal communicating. With the invention of the first phones, then mobile phones, smart phones, the internet and SMS texting, we tend to spend more time communicating on our devices and less time communicating verbally. Technology has taken away the warm vocal communications from many families and replaced it with cold, impersonal texting. Some families are sending messages to one another in the same house, not to mention, in the same room. Pretty silly, right?
What happens when this communication in not received in the manner it was intended. Although we now have Emojis to convey emotions, its is not the same as hearing voice inflections when directly communicating with one another. Sometimes ALL CAPS could mean, pay attention, what I am saying is important, or it could alert the recipient of displeasure with something within the conversation. Other times, it simply just mean, the other party just forgot to remove the cap lock. Emotional sending and receiving of information can be cloudy in the age of technology.
In this Podcast Episode, I will discuss how important it is to remember that the typewritten word, or in this case, texting is not always the best form of communicating. Sometimes, its important to take your message back to the verbal basics and reconnect to mankind.

Many are waking up to no phone service, text and data this morning 3/29/21. This would be a wonderful thing if they had informed their customers in advance.
