This Gospel is about prayer. It can be helpful to realize that we don't pray to flatter God, or try to talk God into something, or because God needs to have people praising him. We pray because it affects us.
When Jesus cures the men with leprosy,
When Jesus cured those people with leprosy, he was teaching us how he "cures us" of our sins. Just as they were cleansed, we are cleansed.
Passages like today's Gospel force us to look for the deeper meaning in the Lord's words and not simply stay on the surface and think predictable thoughts.
Today Bishop Ken encourages us to ask ourselves if we are simply going through the motions, or whether we're using all our creative energy to make the Church work.
Today with Bishop Ken, we reflect and remind ourselves that no matter how much we have on our plate, and how busy life has become, we must lay down our burdens and take time to be with the Lord.
