Is the beginning of something bigger than a fantasy series. It’s the opening chapter of the VevéVerse — a world that stretches across generations, continents, and even the spirit world. At its heart, though, it’s a story about memory, justice, and reclaiming what was stolen.
I wrote this book as both a father and a teacher, but also as someone who once couldn’t read or write when I left school. The VevéVerse grew out of that struggle — and out of a promise I made to my daughters to leave them a legacy that carried truth, dignity, and hope. Too often, the Caribbean and Voodoo are reduced to caricatures or fear. Here, they are given back their depth. Their beauty. Their power.
Through characters like Shadow — a mystical figure caught between judgment and mercy — these stories wrestle with vengeance, balance, and redemption. They weave together ancestral magic, history, and spiritual philosophy into something that feels both timeless and urgent.
The VevéVerse is for the forgotten. For the misrepresented. For the resilient.
It’s for every voice that history tried to silence.

"Mass formation" is a term that has been used to describe how large groups of people can influence an individual's behavior. However, the theories of "mass formation psychosis" and "mass formation hypnosis" are generally considered debunked.
Mass formation: The term "mass formation" is sometimes used in place of "mob psychology". It can describe how large groups of people can influence an individual's behavior.
Mass formation psychosis: "Mass formation psychosis" may describe a situation where mob influence can lead to disturbed thoughts and perceptions.
Debunked theories: The theories of "mass formation psychosis" and "mass formation hypnosis" are generally considered debunked. The phrase "mass formation psychosis" does not appear in the American Psychological Association (APA) Dictionary of Psychology or in the PsycNet database of published research articles.
Dubbed 'Cottonopolis', Manchester was once the international centre of the world’s cotton industry. The city imported up to a billion tonnes of raw cotton a year, towns like Bolton and Preston became manufacturing centres and Oldham’s Platt Brothers & Co. Ltd. built textile machines for mills across the world.
Manchester’s textiles industry brought some people great wealth. However, innovation and profits went hand in hand with inequality and exploitation, on a local and global scale. In 1860, over 80% of the cotton processed in mills in and around Manchester was grown by enslaved African people on plantations in the southern United States. Manchester’s manufacturers only got the cotton in the quantities and at the prices they desired because of this system of human exploitation.

Between 1854 and 1929, so-called “orphan trains” transported more than 200,000 orphaned, abandoned, and homeless children – many of them first-generation Irish Catholic immigrants – from the coastal cities of the eastern United States to the Midwest for “adoption” (often, in fact, indentured servitude).
Some common complaints were: The children coming on the trains were of poor character or poor health. They were “criminals” and “vagabonds” or they were sickly or disabled. New York was using orphan trains as a way to send their “problems” West.

Historically, the Order of the Illuminati refers to a secret society founded in Bavaria by Adam Weishaupt in the late 18th century to advocate for secularism. However, during the interwar period of the 20th century, fascist propaganda claimed the Illuminati were a subversive element which served Jewish elites who were behind global capitalism, Soviet communism and were plotting to create a New World Order.
This conspiratorial stance on the Illuminati, as well as its related conspiracy theory of Freemason-controlling Jews, are built on classic antisemitic themes, including the notion of Jewish control over the world, the meddling by Jews in global politics, and the Jewish plot for complete power over world governance.
The origins of the ayahuasca shamanism are lost in the mists of history but there are many different stories among indigenous tribes of the Amazon about how they initially came to work with this medicine. In an indigenous context, ayahuasca was used by the healers of the Amazon region for healing and divinatory purposes.
Complex rituals surround the preparation and use of ayahuasca that have been passed down through countless generations of healers. By holding ayahuasca ceremonies, they use the medicine as a diagnostic tool to discover the roots of illnesses in their patients.
With no written records from the Amazon, until the Spanish conquistadors invaded in the 16th Century, the history of ayahuasca is relatively unknown. However, a ceremonial cup containing traces of ayahuasca was found in Ecuador and is believed to be over 2500 years old. The use of ayahuasca is widespread and represents the basis of traditional medicine practice for at least 75 different indigenous tribes across the Lower and Upper Amazon.
