Chaos seems to favor Miss Solita -- the other day, something happened to me that was so mind-boggling and absurd, it reminded me of the most difficult time in my life. Spoiler alert: men ain't shit! Or are they...?

Fun fact: I wrote this episode a whole ass year ago only to end up never recording it, falling victim to the very topic I wanted to discuss.
Having an abundance of something can feel comfortable -- but it can also mean appreciating less of what we have. I came to the realization that having an overwhelming amount of time, choice, and possibilities meant that, more often than not, I didn't use these resources to their fullest extent. It even felt like the more that was available to me often equated to not having enough.

If you told little me 50 episodes ago that I would finally be in long-term therapy, she would start levitating. Perhaps she would even start to double dutch like Corbin Bleu in Jump In! (2007).
But half a year into therapy, I've realized that the road to healing trauma is way harder than I initially thought. It's not some magic potion that will solve all of my problems overnight (although antidepressants don't sound bad to me). It's a slow, drawn-out process that has caused me to confront a lot of uncomfortable emotions and sit in them for a while.
So let's talk all about therapy!

After watching the second season of Squid Game, Miss Solita fell in love with Korean men and fell down the rabbit hole into the world of kdramas.
Let's talk about exploring a world outside of our comfort zones: consuming media and content in foreign languages. While subtitles aren't always going to be 100% accurate, the universal human experience transcends language barriers, and discovering foreign media can introduce brand new perspectives and knowledge.

POV: It's the end of the year and your favorite podcaster (behind all of your other favorite and active podcasters) has mostly been MIA! Let's catch up on the surprises we've had since our last chat!
How do we define intelligence? As quoted by Spencer Shay (Jerry Trainor) in the original iCarly series, "I may be an idiot, but I'm not stupid."
Gauging my own intelligence has always been an insecurity of mine, especially as of late. This week, let's talk about debates and arguments, emotions and fact, and how Charlie Kirk is an annoying ass h**.
Plus, a little tidbit / rant about politics and the upcoming U.S. presidential election. :)

Friendships are single-handedly some of the most important relationships we will ever have in our lives, but as we get older, the harder they are to make.
This week, let's talk about various types of friendships, how these connections come and go in different points of our lives, and how social anxiety can be a huge impediment for meeting new people.

Hello, I'm back and I am now 24! Yikes!
Let's talk about how entering my mid-20's has made me so much more aware of how quickly time passes, how much older I am getting, and how uncomfortable and scary all of that feels.

It's time to BeReal. Unemployment is not treating me well. Seeing other people's successes on LinkedIn deeply discourages me. My need of perfectionism causes me to give up before I even try. But at least I still have a podcast!

I never thought that I would be in a place where I was willing to let go. And now that I am, I understand how grieving is a natural part of the process. No matter how terrible the situation was, or what other people think about it, it's normal to grieve something that meant so much. And it's important to be honest with ourselves and feel these emotions when they come up instead of damaging ourselves trying to ignore them.

After being lost for so long, I feel that I am not only finally finding myself, but returning to myself once again. This week, I talk about my recent trip that shifted my perspective on my place in this world and what is meant for me. By being honest with myself and confronting my fears, I am once again doing what I love and learning so much about myself in the process.

As someone who has constantly disappointed herself in the past -- NO MORE!!
For this week, let's discuss what it means to have trust in yourself. Through tiny tidbits, trust can be built in any relationship, and your relationship with yourself is the most important to tend to. Having trust in yourself allows you to move forward and build the life you've always wanted -- but you have to be willing to put the work in.

Let's be real, love f**king hurts. With Valentine's Day approaching, we'll be discussing the painful (and sometimes unavoidable) side to experiencing love. Between feeling heartbroken and emotionless, I reflect on what I've observed from this so called "heartless" generation to figure out what it takes to not only heal a broken heart, but to keep that heart open to love.

Are you self-aware, or are you actually just ruminating on your negative thoughts? For this episode, we're discussing introspection vs. insight, self-intellectualization vs. self-understanding. How true self-awareness is actually mistaken for an obsession with figuring out exactly who we are and why we do the things that we do. How do we achieve true self-awareness without becoming emotionally distressed?

Sometimes, we get to a place where the world around us becomes a little too much and we want nothing more than to disappear. In this episode, I discuss how my recent mental state has been in the process of figuring myself out and what brings fulfillment to my life. From career goals to personal interests, how do we create the life that we've always wanted?
Do you feel like an adult? Or do you feel like a child trapped in an adult body? For this week, we're discussing subjective aging, how the age that we feel doesn't exactly match the age we physically are. Feeling younger than we are could make us feel incapable of doing regular adult things, on top of so many other factors that has made our living seem nearly impossible.

In the age of influencers, it seems as though we're sinking into the quicksand of overconsumption and maximalism. No, you don't need 30 different shades of foundation from TikTok shop. Let's discuss why you should start to question everything around you, be open to different perspectives, & think for yourself when consuming content.

Happy 2024! And happy one year to the SOLITA podcast!! A year later, I'm reflecting on who I was when I first started this passion project of mine and what it's like to have kept up with it for one whole year. Merry xmas! 2023 was a rough year, and as it comes to a close, I reflect on the other version of myself that existed 12 months ago. Amid so many emotions and events, I've grown incredibly exhausted with the world. Fortunately, the new year is a chance to reset. How do we become the most self-loving version of ourselves against so much hurt and betrayal?
Thank you to everyone that's listened to the podcast in the past year! It truly means everything to me and I'm happy to be here, one year later.
