We say we have mercy on front-liners during this COVID season, or that we feel bad for certain people because of this or that reason. But what does mercy really mean? From the perspective of God towards us and how we, as sinners, should view or understand the word "mercy", how are we supposed to apply this in our lives as Christians?
We have all been in situations wherein we hope for good news; we've been in very dark circumstances in our lives and hoped for some kind of solution or savior. We're in it now as a nation and as a species as COVID-19 sweeps through the globe, causing much death and sorrow to countless families. How do we face such circumstances from a spiritual point of view? How can we cope with such dire circumstances? Scripture shows us that this is not the first time for God to send wake-up calls to peoples and nations so that we would turn from our sins and run towards His mercy. Join us as we worship God together in our homes, remembering that our gathering is still honored by God as our hearts are one in Christ.
It's another Sunday stuck in quarantine, but this should not stop us from being Christ-like, and pursuing Him during our time in isolation. If we think about it, our earthly lives are all just one season of quarantine before we are judged as "spiritually okay" or "spiritually dead" and this coming judgment is a reality that nobody can escape. As we stay inside our homes, reflecting on the status of our health, may we also be more spiritually introspective.
This COVID-19 season is bringing into our awareness our own mortality, and in ways that cause much anxiety. It's ironic that so many people fear for the worst, and we are advised to behave as though we already have the virus, without realizing that we are all actually already taking steps closer to death each day. This is a reality that we simply refuse to face until a dire situation forces us to do so. How are we to respond to all of our individual, inescapable deaths? We might be able to save ourselves from the virus, but how are we to escape the inevitable judgment of Christ?
As followers of Christ, we are in service to Him. The way we live life for His glory is our service to Him. Thus, all of us are called to serve. But some are uniquely gifted by God according to His grace to serve as deacons. The question now is what kind of person is God looking for? What are the qualifications? As we continue with our foundation series, let’s study how God qualifies deacons in 1 Timothy 3:8-13.
Misunderstanding something leads to incorrect actions or reactions to what we hear or see. It can cause trouble, fight, losses or even death like a doctor who misunderstands a patient's sickness and prescribes the wrong medication. To misunderstand the righteousness of God and His requirements will lead to wrong methods and content of our evangelism. It is crucial that the content, as well as the method of our evangelism, carries a correct understanding of who God is and how a sinner gets into a right relationship with Him.

Many are uninterested in accountability, responsibility, and sacrifice. As part of the universal church, is it necessary to be part of a local church? Is church membership even biblical? Join us in learning why God commands us to forsake not the assembly and be part of a local church.
How do we preach? Do we get to choose the topic based on our interests? Are we supposed to think of what we believe the church needs to hear and tailor our sermons accordingly? What does it mean to be a faithful preacher/ messenger of God? Does pastoring have to do with making sure that the sermon is effective in getting more and more people to come to church? Maybe you're wondering what a healthy or faithful church looks like?
We would like to invite you to join us as we tackle some Core Values that we believe churches must have, to ensure the faithfulness of the entire congregation towards the Lord Jesus Christ.
New Year's Resolutions are very common every January. And as cliche as it may sound, many churches rightly maximize this yearly new year mindset by preaching sermons on resolutions. However, we would like to take a slightly different approach. Instead of having resolutions, why not make 2020 make a "year of foundations" instead?
Many times, we start the new year strong and excited and end the year exhausted, discouraged, barely surviving, and disillusioned. We often wonder if we're really on track, or if we have drifted from our goals.
In this sermon, we examine the Beatitudes in relation to our Great Mission as disciples of Christ. We go through each beatitude with the intention of doing a self-check if we are truly still following Christ and the purpose for which He sent us, or if we have somehow derailed. Ultimately, our goal and purpose is to come back to Christ with a renewed sense of purpose and excitement for the coming year.
Are we as eager to know Him as eager as He was to come and save us? It always feels unfair and unnatural when we think of the perfect love He shows us, compared to our imperfect love for Him. However, that is the whole point of grace and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
How are our spiritual disciplines? Faith, prayer, bible reading, fellowship, and evangelism? Are we still enjoying and delighting? Or has the many issues and comforts and distractions of the world overwhelmed our spiritual appetites? Perhaps you feel desperate... deep down, you know that you're supposed to reading Scripture and meditating, but your heart is just not into it. What to do?
To praise God is the work of a redeemed heart. It is an intentional act driven by our knowledge of who God is and his actions toward His people. As we receive from God things that we do not deserve, let us reciprocate by expressing both in words and actions the praise He deserves that we often fail to give.
How can we trust a God who we might feel is far away? How can we learn to trust a God who is so big and sovereign but does not exactly tell us how to live our lives with specifics? We have a tendency to look for exact and specific instructions for life. But when it comes to our faith, much of it has to do with prayer and living out how we understand and interpret His Word. Still, there is a substantial amount of vagueness. In this sermon, we hope to encourage everyone that there is indeed reason to trust Him, and in such a way that is reasonable at profound at the same time.
