The Kings lose their first back to back games in the stretch of hell on their schedule.
While the games were very different they lost both in similarly heartbreaking fashion.
In the Thunder game, they had control of the game for most of the 48 mins but faltered down the stretch to give up the lead late. But they fought valiantly in a defense heavy battle against the defending champs.
The Bulls game started out well with the Kings flowing beautifully on offense in the 1st half but then allowed the Bulls to flip the script on them in the 2nd half by demolishing them on defense.
The Kings need to figure out how to get on the same page and close out games as this rag-tag group of players continue to find ways to mesh effectively.

The Lakers walked into G1C without Luka and Lebron and it wasn't an issue as Austin Reaves drops a 51 point game to beat the Kings.
The Kings offense wasn't smooth for a lot of the game and their defense was a mess for a lot of it. It was a game they really needed to win considering the circumstances, as they now head into the stretch of hell in their schedule where wins are gonna be rrrrreeeeaaalllly hard to come by.

They finally did it, the Kings finally win a home opener in G1C history (if you don't count the pandemic year).
And it wasn't easy as the Kings had to deal with a gigantic Utah Jazz frontline that for most of the night overwhelmed the Kings with their size.
But the Kings kept fighting and were able to force the Jazz to make mistakes and overcome their size deficiencies to win the game.
Good first win for the Kings but the road ahead is going to be insane as the Kings begin their schedule of hell with a home game against the Lakers on Sunday.

It was looking ssoooo good, Kings were playing nice defense, scoring in bunches and all was well and good.
And then the 2nd half came and the Kings lost their rhythm, the Suns got going and all came crumbling down.
While it is only the 1st game of the season, it's not a great sign of things to come if the Kings want to be consistent with their energy and intensity throughout a 48 minute game.

Well, another preseason game, another loss. And this one a lot more demoralizing as the Clippers showed that they were on a totally different level to the Kings. There is still time for the team to hammer things out but there is noticeable gap between the Kings and an upper tier team like the Clippers and it's hard to see how the Kings close that gap.
It was a busy day for the Kings on the transaction front, it was announced that they had come to an agreement for Russell Westbrook to join the team early in the day and Keegan Murray signed a 5 year $140 million contract extension with the club.

Bad weekend for Kings fans and Niner fans as there was a series of injuries that happened.
First it was announced Sunday morning that Keegan had torn the UCL on his left thumb and needs surgery which would sideline him for 4-6 weeks. With the Kings lack of depth at the wing position, there will be a gargantuan void at that position for the Kings to start the season.
And if the Keegan news wasn't already a punch in the face, if you were a Niner fan you kicked right in knads when in the first quarter Fred Warner dislocated his ankle and will be out for the season. The injuries continue to pile up as the Niners just can't catch a break.

Kings lose their 2nd preseason game in Portland. They played better but still showed a lot of the issues that plagued them in the game against the Raptors.
That is if you were able to watch the game with the Blazers broadcast which frustrated Owen and Fong to no end with their endless replays, many of which happened while the game was happening so they missed a lot of Kings possessions as a result.
Owen and Fong try their best to give their best analysis of the game despite that.

FINALLY! Kings basketball is back as they took the court for their 1st preseason game. Aannnnddd ... it wasn't the prettiest.
The good: the process seems to be good on offense, plenty of ball movement and good ideas but just unable to fully come to fruition just yet with buckets. The rookies look very promising and played with great energy.
The bad: Kings defense gave up 20 made 3s to what will likely be a mediocre 3 point shooting team. While the plan to overload the paint isn't the worst idea, the Kings cannot keep leaving shooters open the way they do and just pray they miss.
Not the ideal start for the Kings but they will have more preseason games to hammer these things out and hopefully they be locked in and ready to go by the first regular season game.
