Heather Shtuka’s life took an unexpected turn when her son, Ryan, disappeared from Sun Peaks Resort six years ago. Heather Shtuka and her husband Scott have traveled to the resort community from their Alberta home several times since their son, Ryan Shtuka, went missing after leaving a house party at 2 a.m. on Feb. 17, 2018. From her initial role as a parent to the relentless pursuit of finding Ryan, Heather transformed into a search and rescue coordinator and missing-person advocate, chronicling her emotional journey in a well-received book, ‘Missing from me.'
RCMP have continued to investigate Ryan’s disappearance. Continually searching for answers, Heather, along with her husband Scott, return to Sun Peaks annually to mark the anniversary, fostering a resilient spirit within the community while navigating the challenges of loss and uncertainty.

Darrin Hagen has written or co-written over forty plays, many of which deal with gay issues in an exuberant, comic style, often with flamboyant drag characters which he performs himself, and produced by the company he formed in 1987 with his partner, Kevin Hendricks, “Guys in Disguise.” Darrin was named as one of the 25 Most Influential Alberta Artists in the last 25 years and in 2013 he was inducted into the Q Hall of Fame Canada.
