In the last episode we started our deep dive into a series on Real Moms Talk - the SonyLiv show Raat Jawaan Hai — a warm, slice-of-life web series that follows three young parents navigating modern parenthood, friendships, relationships, and the chaos of everyday life in India.
This is the second of an 8-part conversation series, where we unpack what the show stirred up for us as parents.
In true Real Moms Talk style, this is not a show review. We’re not critiquing acting or screenplay. Instead, we’re pulling out relatable parenting moments, reflecting on them, and seeing how they mirror our real-life experiences as moms.
ALSO, SPOILER ALERT!
In this episode we talked about:
Stay-at-home dads and societal double standards
Screen time negotiations & invisible labor of mothers
Mom guilt vs. Dad validation, and why it stings
Why RJH feels too real (in a good way)
Our panel for this episode has
💛 Disha

The OG Admin Team is back, and we’re picking up right where we left off in Episode 1 — with even more reels, real talk, and real opinions.
From thoughts on raising opinionated children to reacting to a gender reveal party that gave off major “I have too much money” energy — this episode is full of laughs, head tilts, and some surprisingly honest parenting confessions, as is abundantly evident from the trailer itself 😂
Sure, we want to raise opinionated daughters but how do we deal with their sometimes judgemental opinions? Should all opinions be voiced? Do our kids really mirror our behaviour back to us (yes) and in that case, what behaviour are we modelling for them?
And why are gender reveals becoming so… extra? Watch the whole episode to find out 😜😉
Here are the reels we watched: Raising Opinionated Daughters | Gender Reveal Party

In the final part of our 3 Idiots deep-dive, we dig into the one thing all desi parents worry about - success. Do marks still matter? Are schools giving equal opportunities to all kids or only rewarding the top rankers? And how are we redefining success, both as parents and people?
We also share our own school stories, frustrations with the rat race, and the quiet moments that helped us rethink what really matters.

We're back with the third part in the series where we rewatched 3 Idiots as parents. In this episode, we revisit the most uncomfortable part of 3 Idiots: the educators. From rigid discipline to emotional blackmail, we unpack the power that teachers (and parents) wield - and the lasting damage it can do when used carelessly.
With our personal stories and a few parenting confessions, we talk about how "Virus"-infected students continue to be even today. If you're a mom who has struggled with a tiny voice in your head asking - am I pushing too hard, or not hard enough? - this one will land a little too close.
✨ Featuring: Archita, Nupur, and Nikita

Scrolling through reels, laughing at all the cringe, nodding along or even dismissing the implied messages… sure you can do this alone, but it’s 4 times more fun when you share the joke with friends!
In this week’s episode Nikita, Archita, Nupur and Shabeena react to parenting reels that make you laugh, but also sometimes make you pause and wonder, what feels lighthearted and what lands somewhat wrong.

Part 2 of our 3 Idiots rewatch - this time, through a parenting lens. We talk bullying, childbirth (yes, that scene), rule-breaking, what success really means, and why jokes don’t land like they used to.
If you haven’t caught Part 1, check out the previous Episode (#2) for context. Or not — starting with this works too. No pressure.
Oh — and spoiler alert! (Which we should’ve added in Part 1, but come on — it’s been 15 years. We’re assuming you’ve seen the movie. More than once.) We discuss all plot twists openly.
In this episode of Real Moms Talk, we bring a parenting lens to 3 Idiots — looking past the jokes to ask: Why did we laugh back then… and why don’t we now?
From the movie, we discuss:
The speech scene that once had us in splits
The ragging we brushed off as harmless
The characters we rooted against, but maybe misunderstood
That childbirth scene (yes, the webcam-vacuum one) — and how it feels watching it now, having actually given birth
And those discussions led to us reflecting on...
Toxic humour in Bollywood and Indian pop culture
How 3 Idiots treats accents, class, and language as punchlines
Chatur’s character arc: clown, villain — or bullied kid?
Suhas and Pia: flawed characters or unfair plot devices?
The unrealistic childbirth scene and what it gets wrong
Rule-breaking, drunk antics, and lack of accountability in college films
Parenting, alcohol, freedom, and real boundaries

🎙️ Real Moms Talk is created and produced by five real moms who are on a mission to bring real life honesty back to reel life parenting. This isn’t a guidebook to "perfect parenting" (because really, what even is that?) - it’s a celebration of the beautiful, messy, hilarious life of real moms.

In Episode 2, we’re heading back to school (with popcorn, and possibly a therapy session or two).
Archita, Nupur & Nikita, from the admin team, sat down to rewatch, rethink, and (lightly) roast 3 Idiots… the Bollywood cult classic that once made us laugh, cry, and adopt “Aal izz well” as a life mantra!
But this time, we’ve put on a parent’s lens.
When we first saw the film back in 2009-10, we were fresh out of college (or mid-career confusion), idealistic, and feeling things. Now, 15 years later, we’re moms raising kids who’ll be making those same choices soon. And oof… the pressure’s real!
This isn’t your regular movie review though. We’re not here to critique the screenplay or direction. We’re here for honest conversations about what the movie sparked in us — then and now — and how it shaped the way we think about parenting today.
Inside this episode, you’ll find:
Nostalgia vs. new perspective: how 3 Idiots hit us then vs. now
The emotional cost of “safe” career choices
Why Rancho’s ‘passion-led’ rebellion may not age that well
And how our own stories shape the way we want to guide our kids now
The movie sparked some interesting questions and while we don’t have all the answers - we’re the generation that’s hopefully learning to ask better questions. Because now we’re the parents - the ones our kids will look to for direction, advice, and permission to dream.
This is Part 1 of a 4-part series on our discussion about 3 Idiots — because we had so much to talk about. You’ll see !

Welcome to the very first episode of Real Moms Talk! 🎉
We’re kicking things off the way real moms do best… with messy laughter, sharp observations, and a little bit of what-even-is-happening energy.
If you’ve ever sent a meme to your mom-friends instead of explaining how you feel, or found yourself laughing and slightly horrified at modern parenting moments — this episode is for you. Join Nikita and the OG admin team behind Life of Real Moms as they sit down to watch some reels.
From savage teacher comebacks to hilarious desi toddler moments, this episode is packed with laughter, nostalgia, and the kind of real talk that’s been missing from picture-perfect portrayals of motherhood in reel life.
But it’s not just about the LOLs. We get real about:
Swearing and kids coming across swear words
How respect for teachers (and authority) is evolving in desi homes
How parents influence the attitudes and the vocabulary of kids towards everything
Learning to laugh at the chaos instead of stressing over it

This episode includes a brief mention of student mental health and suicide. Listener discretion advised. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to a mental health professional. India Helpline (iCall): +91-91529-87821

So.... We’ve been working on something behind the scenes for months now… quietly building, planning, overthinking (a LOT), redoing, and now… finally… it’s ready to go out into the world.
Part 2 of our trailer is here and this time, we’re not just giving you a peek into our chat group… we’re inviting you to sit with us. Because this is what it’s all been leading up to — Real Moms Talk, the podcast🎙️ It’s honest, a little messy, very real (obviously 💁🏻♀️), and basically what you’d hear if you eavesdropped on a long-@ ss voice note from your mom friends that starts with “yaar, I need to vent” and ends somewhere on the other side of a ranting about something they saw online 😅
Every week, we’re going to talk about the parenting content we love, the stuff that drives us a little nuts, the movie moms that gave us trust issues (👀), the reels that make us feel seen, the WhatsApp forwards that need to STOP, and the expectations we’re all navigating — one totally relatable, totally chaotic conversation at a time. We’re not here to give gyaan (we tossed that out of the window early on lol).
But if you’ve ever watched a reel or show and gone “ummm...is it just me???” — this podcast is 100% for you. 🗓️
First episode drops May 2nd 📆 We’ll be back every Friday after that with more stories, laughter, and lots of very loud opinions. We can’t wait for you to hear this. Truly. This has been a labour of love and madness, and it means the world that we finally get to share it with you 💛
With love,
Nikita, Disha, Archita, Nupur, and Shabeena
Spoiler Alert: This is NOT about the snacks and you DO NOT want to miss the END. Trust us. 😜
We all know what goes down in that one WhatsApp group that all mom-friends are a part of, right? Mundane everyday things like snacks could trigger a chain reaction so absurd that you will never believe what it eventually leads to. Here’s a peek into our chats. Watch till the end to see what unravels!
Because when real moms talk... anything can happen 💁🏻♀️ Stay tuned for Part 2 😁
