The earlier the better as far as I'm concerned. We also saw the new Batman and gave a quick review on Twitter where Leiyah was worried about the new batmans "hotness" Lord help me! https://www.therabody.com/ https://markbellslingshot.com/

In a former life, I used to tell people their futures. That is the reason I've been prepping my kid for active shooters since she was about 5. It sounds weird that being said it sounded worse years ago. Now my friends and family think I'm a visionary. The little things matter and I hope more people start to put stuff in the back of their minds. Something as simple as choosing seats at the movies. I personally don't think it’s sad.. I think its preparation and give me a simple peace of mind!
This harmless video got so much hate on youtube it was taken down. with like 40k views… but my Facebook group is filled with people that KNOW ME!
Want to read a great article about situational awareness wrapped in Jason Bourne Goodness?
If you have money and want a great book on self-defense and a strong mental mindset:
Principles Of Self Defense by Jeff Cooper (If you are a friend that lives close to me I can let you borrow it.)
You can also start with simple things when the kid is young… games like when you go into a place let's see who can remember the most about our server salesperson ect. Even the license plate game.. carry it from the car into the store.. look in the parking lot for out of state tags.
A few weird stars lined up and had us talking about stalkers. We have watched a few shows recently where people are stalked. Some harmless and others more serious deadly situations. I really just like having these loose conversations about hard topics just to see where her head is at. We are laughing but we definitely know that stalking is a serious matter.
Light talk about Avengers End Game with SPOILERS. We also talk about depression lightly. Later on, we will dive deep into it. But sometimes it's important to dip your toe in the water with important topics. I use movies to talk about all kinds of topics and Thor was all Leiyah could think about walking out of EndGame. Leiyah is currently having a hard time with something we are aware of it and the cause behind it. This sadness is not depression but it's also something I keep an eye on.
How do you deal with sadness or depression?
This week we are talking about parents being over the top in sports. Lebron James is under fire a little bit for getting to hyped and involved in his son’s AAU basketball games. I see both sides of it and a lot of parents could do worse things than what LBJ is doing! At the end of the day, he should be celebrated for loving his kids!
I took Leiyah on a road trip to visit some friends we haven't seen in a while! We had a great drive up and back together. Spending time with good people and some outdoor activities is always a good thing! We also talk about go bags and survival. Be warned Leiyah is a SAVAGE!
Talking about punishment I received as a child and what Leiyah currently goes thru as far as punishment. I learned a lot from how I was punished as a child. Leiyah learned the same lessons much faster than I did. I have no issue with spanking children. Of course, there is a limit and line that shouldn't be crossed. Lucky for me. I only had to do it one time with my child.
How were you punished as a child?
How do you punish your children?
Talking to the kid about her having a bad day at a wrestling match. We talk about that moment and how I/we handled it. Some tough love for sure.
Making sure we never get too low and bounce back from mistakes.
When your child fails.. how do you react in the moment?
The most important thing is to be involved with your kid as much as possible and know what they are into. Ask questions sit down and watch what they are watching. Even if you think it's dumb showing interest is important.
Leiyah joins me in this episode and we talk about how we use the content as teaching lessons.
LEIYAH HAS HAD A PHONE SINCE SHE WAS 4 YEARS OLD. SHE HAS NEVER LOST A PHONE OR BROKEN A PHONE. THE RULES ARE SIMPLE WE FOLLOW THEM AND THAT HELPS HER KEEP HER PHONE IN GOOD SHAPE.
Hope you enjoyed the first EP.
