On the 20th Feb UCLAN will be hosting their annual graphic design conference. In this episode I got the chance to sit down with Andrew and chat about his 20+ years lecturing at the university, how ideas are central to the course, changes in graphic design and how AI plays a role in the future of graphic design.
Andy is a great guy and this was a very interesting chat.
Music by Geese, my favourite Preston based band.
Bar Pintxos was by far the best restaurant I have been to in Preston. And I'm not the only one that feels that way. I was genuinely gutted to read the announcement that Anthony would be closing the restaurant in January 2023.
Pintxos, through its quality and presence was a peak at what Preston could be. A City of vibrancy where music flowed out into the flag market.
In this episode I chat with Anthony about his decision to close, his belief systems, why failure can be a good thing and many other topics of depth and authenticity.
I'll miss my cheeky beers on a Saturday afternoon listening to flamenco whilst people watching. I'll miss taking a friend who hasn't been to Pintxos before any seeing their reaction. I'll miss watching something done proper and seeing quality at it's finest. But, having this conversation which you about to listen to, might just ease that pain.
Enjoy.
