In her international webcast, Schiller Institute Chairwoman Helga Zepp-LaRouche referenced the importance of Pope Leo XIV’s speech on Oct. 25, in front of thousands assembled at St. Peter’s Square, where he talked about the founder of modern science and great Renaissance thinker, Nicholas of Cusa. Pope Leo XIV had said that during the fifteenth century, in Cusa’s time, many people lived in fear, took up arms against each other, and looked at their neighbors with general distrust and suspicion, while Cusa, “believed in humanity.” Pope Leo XIV said that Cusa “understood that there are opposites which must be held together.” Nicholas of Cusa’s philosophical breakthrough, which he developed throughout the course of the Council of Florence from 1431-1445, was his method of the Coincidence of Opposites. Helga Zepp-LaRouche described this method in-depth on her international webcast. The Coincidence of Opposites is, “a method of thinking [of] how you [can avoid getting] get stuck in the nitty-gritties of this problem or that problem, but how you can train your mind to think the one. This is extremely important. The Pope applies it very clearly to the political situation, because, obviously, If you look at every conflict in the world today, if you look at the situation in the Middle East or Ukraine or the Caribbean, if you only look at the facts, the history of the crisis, the tensions and the personalities involved, you will never find an adequate solution. But if you start totally the other way around, if you think the one first, in this case the one humanity—that which unites us all—and then from that elevated point of view look at the concrete crisis, you can always find a solution…. You can apply that method to any problem, to politics, economics, military issues, social issues, cultural issues, because it is a way of conflict resolution which does exactly that: that the hope of synthesizing the next step of the evolution of the development of mankind, you can see something that does not exist but which can be brought about by people of good will by concerted efforts. So, this is a very beautiful intervention…" The revival of Nicholas of Cusa’s philosophy is one of the most profound questions which will determine the durable survival of all of humanity, during a time when geopolitical divisions are at their height, and when the prospect of thermonuclear war is incredibly high. While a step back from the brink has taken place today, with the meeting of President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the APEC Summit in South Korea, what is needed is a move towards durable survival between nations. Civilizations have collapsed, not out of fate, but based on whether a culture was capable of rejecting its flawed axiomatic beliefs, and proceeding to a higher solution which seemed impossible before. This is what Nicholas of Cusa pioneered, when he engineered the successful Council of Florence which resolved the schism between both the Western and Eastern Churches. We can do the same today, following the approach of Helga Zepp-LaRouche, and Nicholas of Cusa. Speakers: Bill Jones and Dennis Speed

The Coincidence of Opposites The True Basis for Successful Diplomacy

Weekly Battle Report – LaRouche Right then, Cusa Now
Watch 4 fantastic reports in tonight’s Weekly Battle Report on work done this week by the international LaRouche movement. We are intervening on the most important questions facing humankind: Will the war mongers let peace and cooperation among mankind occur? Will we, citizens of the world, have the courage and wisdom to bring a potential international renaissance into being? First in tonight’s report, LaRouche movement leader Diane Sare co-filed on October 16, 2025, a lawsuit to defend the right of voters in the state of New York to have their votes counted, and counted accurately! Watch Diane’s remarks at a Press Conference on the suit held yesterday in Washington DC at the Hay Adams hotel. Next, watch Joe Jenning’s (LaRouche, Houston, TX) testimony to this month’s meeting of the Houston Port Commissioners. Joe encourages their support for the US-Russia Bering Strait project. The LaRouche movement in Mexico gives their weekly activities report, as they organize for bringing Mexico into the new paradigm of peace and development, including the fight to defend farmers’ right to produce food, as against the speculators. Finally, we see a cross-generational dialogue on the importance of the intellectual Cardinal Nicholas of Cusa, discussed by Lyndon LaRouche in his 1984 “The Power Of Labor,” and by Pope Leo XIV in his Jubilee address last Saturday.

Daily Update Oct 29th w. Harley – Act Now to Prevent Being Washed Away by the Storm Which Is Coming
Hopeful signs from summits in Asia contrast with more suicidal lunacy from the West! Lyndon LaRouche identified the systemic flaw in western strategic policy decades ago -- submission to City of London power -- and presented an alternative -- cooperation in major infrastructure projects and development of new technologies. We have reached the point where a choice must be made: War and chaos directed by London and Wall St., or cooperation in the physical economy, as presented by LaRouche.

Daily Update Oct 27th – A Turn Toward Asia
A Turn Toward Asia On October 25, Pope Leo XIV delivered an address in which he spoke of Cardinal Nicholas of Cusa's conception of discovering truth through a "coincidence of opposites". The revival of this 15th century idea is coherent with what Putin has called the "diplomacy of complexity", and Lyndon LaRouche's conception of higher truth existing in the invisible "complex domain". Whether you know it or not, this is the most efficient path to peace. It includes within it LaRouche's idea that joint projects, based on a physical economy policy of mutual benefit, is essential for peace. A Global Dialogue of Peace Between Opposites
As of now, the world is in the same situation it was exactly 63 years ago, on October 22, 1962, when President Kennedy, in a special broadcast to the American people, had announced the policy of the U.S. against the Soviet Union’s stationing of nuclear missiles in Cuba. He had said, “It shall be the policy of this Nation to regard any nuclear missile launched from Cuba against any nation in the Western Hemisphere as an attack by the Soviet Union on the United States, requiring a full retaliatory response upon the Soviet Union.” The increase in hostility against Russia from the trans-Atlantic nations, including the U.S., Germany, the United Kingdom, and France, risks the danger of a breakout of thermonuclear war. Speaking to the International Peace Coalition yesterday, MIT professor and leading U.S. nuclear expert Ted Postol had shown the tenuity of the nuclear architecture, which could be unleashed upon the world by accident or miscalculation, and that even after the first nuclear device was used—whether low-yield or high-yield—there is no stopping the chain-reaction of retaliatory attacks by nations. Ted Postol’s presentation is a wake-up call to every concerned citizen in the world, to take immediate action to stop the unthinkable from occurring. There was a glimmer of hope showcased this Wednesday in the emergency EIR roundtable discussion on the construction of a corridor between Alaska and Russia through the Bering Sea, which connect Afro-Eurasia with Canada, the U.S., and possibly even southwards towards Central and South America. The antidote to nuclear war is contained within big projects, which unite nations through economic development, and contribute to the greater good of mankind’s future. Russian Direct Investment Fund CEO and Kremlin Special Envoy Kirill Dmitriev, just a few days after the ill-conceived U.S. sanctions on Russian oil companies, has signaled that peace is still possible. Dmitriev is an enthusiastic proponent of the Bering Strait Tunnel project to link the Americas with Afro-Eurasia, and shared a map drawn in the 1960s showing the “Kennedy-Khrushchev Peace Bridge,” a proposed linkage between Alaska and Russia during the Kennedy Administration. Dmitriev has proposed that the tunnel be built under the name, “Putin-Trump Peace Bridge.” With Dmitriev now in the U.S., the potential exists to turn geopolitical conflict into dialogue on infrastructure for peace. That is dependent on people grasping the solution-concepts of Lyndon LaRouche and his wife Helga Zepp-LaRouche today. Speakers: Harley Schlanger and Bill Jones

IPC Meeting #125 w. Ted Postol – End The Threat of Nuclear War and Open a New Era of Peace
Please mobilize your organizations. This Friday, the International Peace Coalition, holding its 125th consecutive meeting, will feature Nuclear weapons expert Ted Postol, and a report on the Wednesday symposium. We will take up both the still-looming danger of thermonuclear war, and the newly-emerging prospect for a 180-degree shift in relations among the United States, Russia, China and other nations through the construction of what some have now called the Putin-Trump Peace Bridge. Please send reports and initiatives for the agenda ASAP. Friends of the International Peace Coalition, It was exactly 63 years ago, America at 7 PM, October 22, 1962, President John. F. Kennedy, in a special emergency broadcast to the American people, stated: “It shall be the policy of this Nation to regard any nuclear missile launched from Cuba against any nation in the Western Hemisphere as an attack by the Soviet Union on the United States, requiring a full retaliatory response upon the Soviet Union.” Over the 18 minutes of the President’s speech that night, the world was transformed. Humanity was closer to global thermonuclear war, and therefore, to its potential annihilation, than at any time before or since — until the Fall of last year. On Dec. 25, 2024, Russian Foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said: “Recently, Pentagon generals have openly deliberated on the potential for ‘limited nuclear strikes’ with the Russian Federation, with the intention to ensure they emerge victorious from such an `exchange.’” When the Biden Administration authorized and enabled the deployment, through Ukraine, of long-range missiles against Russia, and Russia, in response, successfully deployed in November 2024 its new, still-presently-unstoppable Oreshnik missile — without the nuclear warheads which it is capable of carrying — against Ukraine, the world stepped beyond the brink of what Kennedy had merely enunciated in the Cuban Missile Crisis of October, 1962. In the last week, however, a startling revelation regarding 1963 has emerged from a file on the Kennedy assassination just provided to the United States from the Russian government. That just-released file contained a hand-drawn map which described a proposal to construct what was called on the map the “Khrushchev-Kennedy Peace Bridge.” On the map, written in English, and in large lettering, appear these words: “Kennedy-Khrushchev World Peace Bridge – could and should be built between Alaska and Russia. At once.” All the points of emphasis appear on the original map. The Bering Strait Tunnel Project, in illustrated form, has been a widely circulated part of the Schiller Institute’s work for the past 35 years. For three years, since the 2022 escalation of the war between NATO and Russia in Ukraine, it has been the unique role of the International Peace Coalition, the Schiller Institute, and the LaRouche Organization, to insist that “peace through development” is the only way to durably end war, or to even propose a durable peace. Yesterday (Wednesday) Russian and American experts on what is often referred to as “the Bering Strait Tunnel Project” met on an online symposium sponsored on very short notice by the Executive Intelligence Review, the magazine founded by economist and statesman Lyndon LaRouche (1922-2019).

Gaza and Ukraine Only Non-Linear Approaches Can Bring About Peace
“No more killing!” That is what President Trump told acting President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in yesterday’s two-hour White House meeting. While Zelenskyy probably expected Trump to approve the use of Tomahawk missiles, which are capable of striking deep into Russia and would certainly put the U.S. and NATO in a state of direct conflict in Ukraine, Trump instead referenced the proposal of a Budapest summit between himself and Russian President Vladimir Putin, suggesting separate meetings be held on the sidelines with Putin and Zelenskyy. This is just one example of the arc of development taking place in the world. We can either stick to the old imperial axioms which have dominated since President Franklin Roosevelt’s death, which will lead to the thermonuclear obliteration of all life on the planet, or, we can shift our axioms, and create the conditions for a new paradigm of coalesce in the world today. In another area of the world, Southwest Asia, the peace deal between Hamas and Israel, while tenuous by itself, has opened up a new path for diplomacy and economic development which can lead to a reconciliation between both sides. That potential exists with Lyndon LaRouche’s 1975 Oasis Plan, which envisions joint development in water desalination and other infrastructure, to make the deserts bloom, and integrate the region from India to the Mediterranean, from the Caucasus to the Persian Gulf, as one development area. The feasibility of implementing such an ambitious undertaking—though unconventional according to linear political thinking—is real, according to Dr. Manuel Hassassian, the ambassador from the Palestinian Authority to Denmark, in an interview with Helga Zepp-LaRouche. In the dialogue, he said to Helga: “On several occasions, I boosted the Oasis Plan as a prelude to economic development towards infrastructural development. I think this is a recipe which is ready for international donors and stakeholders to use in the process of the national reconstruction and the infrastructural development of Gaza. I think this is the time to market the Oasis Plan, to be factored in by those who are going to be involved in the reconstruction of Gaza.... The Oasis Plan now is becoming more and more visible to stakeholders to factor in [to] any process of development.” A new approach to diplomacy, which is non-linear and creative, as proposed by President Vladimir Putin at the recent Valdai Club meeting this month, is needed to implement such proposals. Only a transcendental shift in the thinking of citizens can result in such a revolutionary approach to statecraft.

Change The Parameters toStart a New Paradigm — International Peace Coalition Meeting #124
Join the International Peace Coalition to collaborate with leaders around the world toward true peace. This week we will have Ali Rastbeen, director of the Académie Géopolitique de Paris; Mossi Raz, former Knesset member and former Director General of Peace Now; and others soon to be announced. Please send us reports for the Agenda. The eyes of the world are locked on the fragile peace deal struck just one week ago in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, bringing the more than two year, horrific war in Gaza to an end. While there are a million arguments to be made as to why this deal might fall apart—the media is full of them—Helga Zepp-LaRouche was quite firm in discussions with colleagues on Wednesday, Oct. 15 that that kind of speculation does nothing to effect a lasting peace; it does nothing for the cause of humanity. As she made clear in her international webcast the same day, "[E]verything now depends on changing the parameters for good, and I think that the most important thing that we can do, and you can do,… [is] to put the Oasis Plan on the agenda in a major way. If there would be an agreement by all the neighbors…that the hundred years of violence and tension has to be overcome by putting in a perspective of development for all—because the new name for peace is development—then I think there can be a change in the situation. Indeed, I think this region could reconnect to the great tradition it had in the times of the ancient silk road when Southwest Asia was a hub for the connection and trade between Asia, Europe, and Africa. That is exactly what the Oasis Plan would be the beginning of. …The best and maybe only way you can end this conflict is to lift the entire discussion on a completely new level where you have an economic development plan where everybody participates." Only such an approach, that of rising above the level on which the conflict arose to locate the higher "one," the higher good in the common interest of advancing humanity, can work. This is the same principle that must be invoked to avoid the geopolitical trap laid by the small minded and terribly evil warmongers in the West who are preparing Europe to march headlong into a nuclear conflict with Russia and are hoping to pull the United States with them. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was quite frank in an Oct. 15 interview with Kommersant that it is the European leaders who are driving the war policy, and "they make no secret of their desire to ‘lead Donald Trump astray from the righteous path,’ as we say—to divert him from the course he himself charted through his political instincts…." So far, to his credit, President Trump has not followed lock step; however, a big question that hangs in the air, which may be addressed on Friday when acting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visits the White House, is whether or not Trump will authorize Tomahawk long-range missiles to be sent to Ukraine. Lavrov warned, "[W]hen President Trump spoke about the possibility of supplying these missiles, he also said that he did not want to escalate the war. In other words, he has admitted that sending the missiles could lead to a serious escalation. Ukraine would no longer have anything to do with it. This would cause colossal damage to the possibility of normalizing US-Russian relations…" Humanity is at a crossroads, and neither idle speculation nor cynical ("realistic") commentary will ensure that we move down the path away from the abyss. Getting the West to drop geopolitics and join the new paradigm may seem like it will take a miracle—but we know the first step to pulling off such a miracle: Get the Oasis Plan on the agenda for the upcoming November meeting in Cairo on Gaza reconstruction.

Manhattan Project Oct 12th – As Peace is Undermined in Gaza, What Will We Do to Sustain It
As we enter the early phase of a tentative peace deal between Israel and Hamas to end a horrific genocide conducted against largely innocent Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, there are already moves being made by Netanyahu’s criminal team to undermine the peace process. The Gaza ceasefire went into effect noon local time on Oct. 10, while Israeli forces completed their withdrawal to lines specified in the first phase of the agreement. Only six hours later, two people in Khan Younis were killed by an Israeli drone strike. Netanyahu then threatened a return to war, if Hamas did not capitulate on disarmament and other Israeli demands, saying, “If this is achieved the easy way, great. And if not, it will be achieved the hard way.” Also, consider the fact that respected Palestinian leader, Marwan Barghouti, who was specifically named in the list of 250 Palestinian political prisoners to be released in exchange for hostages held by Hamas, was omitted later on. We cannot leave the peace process in the hands of criminal leaders who will take any chance to sabotage it. What and who is behind Netanyahu, including his criminal war cabinet ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich? The old British Empire, who intend to prevent Southwest Asia from being a world crossroad for development, are using Israel as the hand grenade to blow up the entire region. American economist and statesman Lyndon LaRouche suggested, following the 1993 Oslo Accords, that shovels be immediately put into the grounds so that people in the region could see that something was moving, and that there was real development. If nations in the region were to agree to LaRouche’s Oasis Plan, including the Arab League, Gulf Cooperation Organization, and Organization of Islamic Cooperation, they could throw a monkey wrench into imperial ambitions for the region, and promise a real future to the people of Gaza and surrounding nations. IPC #123 – Cooperation for a New Paradigm, or Extinction with Graham Fuller and Vincenzo Romanello
International Peace Coalition Meeting Friday, October 10, 11am ET/5pm CET RSVP to join the discussion on Zoom: https://schillerinstitute.nationbuild... With Graham Fuller, Dr. Vincenzo Romanello, and Ali Rastbeen The Western nations’ apparent commitment to geopolitics—to the old and dying system of imperial control of some nations and peoples over others—is the biggest threat to humanity today and, because it now risks our extinction in a nuclear war, in all of human history. The relentless and psychotic drive of the European, NATO, and other elites toward militarization, toward getting a war with nuclear-armed Russia going at any cost, is a very relevant case in point. Many are decrying the most recent, desperate push of Zelenskyy and his controllers to get U.S. President Donald Trump to send Tomahawk long-range missiles to Ukraine—missiles which the Russians have made quite clear cannot be operated without U.S. military personnel—in order to "get Putin to the negotiating table." Former UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter has called on Congress to act immediately to ban the shipment of such weapons to Ukraine, along with intelligence support in targeting the missiles. Trump, for his part, has not yet said whether he’ll make such a stupid move, about which Putin declared in his speech to the Valdai Club on October 2, ”This would signal the advent of a totally new stage in this escalation, including in terms of Russia’s relations with the United States.” In the other British Empire cockpit of war, Southwest Asia, an initial agreement has been reached in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, between Hamas and Israeli negotiators for phase one of a peace deal. Initial statements from U.S. President Donald Trump and the Hamas team state that all of the Israeli hostages and roughly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, who had been seized since October 7, 2023, are to be released; Israeli troops are to withdraw to agreed-upon lines; and the flow of aid is to resume at levels consistent with the January 2025 agreement. The obvious and quite understandable concern of the Hamas team is that Trump give guarantees that he will hold Israel to their end of the bargain. The only solution to the set of crises erupting across the globe is for the Western nations to look to the better angels of their natures, to change their axioms, and to dump the system of war and geopolitical conflict. Our universe is not a dog-eat-dog, Hobbesian world; quite the contrary. Look to the nations of the Global South, of the BRICS, of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization; despite Trump’s tariff warfare, South-South trade is growing, year-on-year; new, cooperative ventures in transportation, energy, and agriculture are beginning in those nations; 7,000 participants from 80 countries are currently attending the “Inventing the Future” forum in Moscow, discussing a wide range of topics from demographic challenges to artificial intelligence and space exploration. Russian President Vladimir Putin told the gathering, "Conclusions and results of such a profound and substantive conversation are of great value. I am confident that we must create our own future based on a sovereign worldview." "I think the sign of the time is cooperation," Zepp-LaRouche said in her Oct. 1 Schiller Institute webcast. "If the Western countries would signal to the Global Majority that they intend to cooperate with them on economics, on politics, on culture, on all kinds of fields, we could move into a new era of civilization." The moment requires our intervention around the world now.

Fireside Chat Oct 9th – We Are All in the Same Boat Will We Build an International Peace Order
The world let out a sigh of relief following the successful summit between President Trump and President Putin in Anchorage, Alaska, on August 15, 2025. While the momentum from that summit has not completely dissipated, it seems to be headed in that direction. The relentless and psychotic drive of European, NATO, and other elites to escalate towards full-on war with a nuclear-armed Russia is now putting the world a few inches away from an irreversible catastrophe—a global nuclear war that would destroy all life on Earth. Pressure is being brought upon the Trump Administration to sell Tomahawk missiles to Europe for use in Ukraine, which are capable of carrying nuclear warheads and can be launched up to a range 1,550 miles, more than enough to hit targets deep within Russian territory, a clear red-line which would make the U.S. and NATO direct participants in the war. Former UN weapons inspector and U.S. marine Scott Ritter had reminded readers in his Substack article, “The Missiles of October,” that Trump had clearly outlined his opposition to the Biden Administration's policy of allowing Ukraine to use the U.S.-provided ATACMS missiles to strike targets deep inside Russia. Trump had said then, in December 2024, “ “I disagree very vehemently with sending missiles hundreds of miles into Russia. Why are we doing that? We’re just escalating this war and making it worse. That should not have been allowed to be done. Now they’re doing not only missiles, but they’re doing other types of weapons. And I think that’s a very big mistake, a very big mistake.” Ritter and others are now mobilizing the U.S. Congress to act immediately to ban the shipment of such weapons to Ukraine, along with intelligence support in targeting the missiles. We know, given the statements of former military experts within the U.S. who have voiced opposition to the current war hysteria which has taken over Washington, that the long-range missiles could not be operated except with the intelligence and reconnaissance data provided by the U.S. to Ukrainian operators. In Southwest Asia, another theater of war, there is cautious, yet renewed hope for a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, following an initial agreement being reached Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, for the first phase of the agreement to release hostages on both sides of the conflict. Initial statements from the teams involved indicate that all of the Israeli hostages, and roughly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners who were seized since October 7, 2023, are to be released; Israeli troops are to withdraw to agreed-upon lines; and the flow of aid is to resume at levels consistent with the January 2025 agreement. It’s our obligation, as actors, not spectators, to make sure the geopolitical confrontation with Russia, China, and other nations is ended, and replaced with win-win agreements between sovereign nation-states, not vassals of Wall Street, for economic development. In a statement written by Helga Zepp-LaRouche, and distributed across several peace rallies in Germany, on the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, she makes clear, “For the first time in human history, we are all in the same boat: We will either go down together, or jointly open a new more humane chapter in universal history. That is why we must stand up against the war hysteria that is being whipped up, with hundreds of thousands of people on the streets—as in the early 1980s. But that is not enough. We must overcome the geopolitical causes of war and overcome, together with the Global South, the great challenges facing humanity—poverty and underdevelopment. Only by helping the countries of the Global South to develop their economic potential will we be able to resolve the refugee crisis in a humane way.” Only through that adopted policy of nations of the world, can we address the roots of all crises.
