Funnily enough we recorded this on the day big Hulk Hogan passed. In this episode, we have Mark Dallas, founder of ICW, co-host of the Heavy Good Podcast and many other things. Mark was great to chat to, and will need to get a second episode in down the line, as I feel like we barely scratched the surface. Hope you enjoy, the edits are moving in a direction that I want to take the podcast, and I want to keep improving, so let me know what you think. Thanks to the team at Oran Mor for letting us record! #MarkDallas #Scottish #ICW #HeavyGoodPodcast
Neil Bratchpiece is an actor, writer, rapper, improviser and stand up comedian - best known for his portrayal of "The Wee Man". With accolades like getting in the ring with Bubba Ray Dudley, starring in the award winning "The Sharkey", and being a lead writer for BBC's Breaking the News - there was too much to cover in an hour or so - but did my best. I really enjoyed the conversation and photo shoot after, and hopefully you do too. Big thanks to West Brewery for letting us film in their Glasgow Green spot. #WeeMan #ICW #Comedian #Scottish #Scotland
A photographer! In this episode we had a chat in Ayr, wandering about the harbour/ beach area and chatting in the office of Neat Digital. Lee is a photographer based in Glasgow, starting out in urban exploration but mixing in a range of other genres like street and portraits too. He was kind enough to leave a copy of his amazing photo book which is featured in the episode too. We chat a lot about photography, ideas for projects, and how some of his work inspired the pod! Hope you enjoy.
In this episode I was lucky enough to chat to Martin Graham, an Ayr lad who went on to work with ESPN, Dave, Gold (TV) and regularly performs in London as a stand up comedian.
In this episode we head to Dunure where Daryll chats to Ayrshire artist Dave aka Ferrero Rossi (@FerreroRossi). Highly recommend checking out his Tiktok and Instagram. We chat Biffy gigs and Stone Cold Steve Austin biscuit tins.

For episode 3, Season 2 of Portrait and a Podcast, we're joined by Ross Gardiner.
Ross is a childhood friend of Daryll and sadly, this conversation was initiated by the news that Ross has been diagnosed with cancer again. After successfully supressing the disease in 2023 it's back again and deemed incurable. We recorded this episode with the intention of raising awareness around a number of significant areas; the incredible work that Maggie's do for cancer patients and their friends & family, the importance of not ignoring any aspect of your health and wellbeing, talking about difficult subjects and the importance of humour, friends and family!
Whilst this was a difficult conversation, it was filled with moments of humour! Ross and Portrait and a Podcast share the belief that if just one person benefits from this message it has been worthwhile.
Life can be incredibly brutal at times and navigating these troubles isn't always easy, however, there are organisations and people out there to help. Nobody needs to tackle any battle on their own.
