Mystic River (2003) – A Perspective Review
The Law. The city of Boston. Crime, and the process of solving it. The value of a Perspective Review via 2GuysTalking, is being able to examine a movie, long after it’s been done at the theater and even after home availability on DVD and Blu-ray as well as electronic downloads arrive and disappear. Tonite, the 2GuysTalking Podcast plows through a literal trifecta, where a new podcast launches, another Perspective Review is established, and a new mini-series gets a wondrous watery start. It’s time for The Perspective Review of Mystic River, (2003), directed by Clint Eastwood, here on The 2GuysTalking Podcast Network.

The Matrix (1999) – A Perspective Review
What is - The Matrix? In 1999, and still to this day on commercial networks across the world, many find out still to this day find out what - it - is. The Matrix, that was "born" in 1999, provided the canvas of "virtual reality" - infused with AI - Artificial intelligence, and allowed us all to watch Neo, Trinity, Morpheus, and a cavalcade of characters too long to mention, traverse down the digital rabbit hole. Add in guns, a love story, several gargantuan light bulb moments that drive story and imagination and you've got something that's the culmination of just swallowing a blue or red pill, but of years of imagination that combine to make up - The Matrix, 1999, Directed by the Wachowski brothers - which is now square inside the 2GuysTalking Mini-gun Perspective Review cross-hairs, here, on The 2GuysTalking Perspective Review of The Matrix.

Hang ‘Em High (1968) – A Perspective Review

In 1968, an already 38-year-old Clint Eastwood was made a producer of a movie that was going to be the "bridge" back to the states when it came to the Spaghetti Westerns and Hollywood's at-all interest in the modern Western Feature film.

A number of years later, a young 8 year old Canadian kid dreamt of becoming a lawman. Later, he did, and at the center of that grand vision was the aforementioned bridge feature film. It's title is Hang 'Em High - 1968, directed by Ted Post, starring Clint Eastwood and a robust cast of Hollywood talent that is likely almost as long as this podcast.

The sun is high on the horizon and the time to Hang 'Em High, with the help of a podcast host and four life-long lawmen hailing from a variety of parts of North America. This is the WhatCopsWatch Perspective Review of 1968's Hang 'Em High.

Field of Dreams (1989) – A Perspective Review
Baseball certainly isn't the same game it was even 5 years ago. If we go back to 10 years ago, rule changes, personalities and focuses on "enhancements" changed the game to be sure. If we travel back 20 years, we'll see how salaries have clearly evolved, how roles changed completely across the board and how owners have become legends - both revered and reviled. Who'd have thought that now almost 30 years later, a tiny little baseball movie, featuring a bunch of ghosts, a farm, and a game of catch Ray Kinsella never had - would be the focus of a Perspective Review? 1989's FIeld of Dreams offers a little bit of something - to everyone. While a "ghost" story, the only thing you'll think is "scary" about this movie is your inability to walk past a screen it's playing on - and keep on walking. Join 2 baseball zealots who detail The Hype, The Money, The Good, The Bad, The Franchise and The Rating of a one of a kind, round-the-bases trip - Field of Dreams, starring Kevin Kostner...

Avengers (2012) – A Perspective Review
The concept of a "Superhero Team" had been thought about, drawn up, and shown to human eyes millions of times and satisfied every eye that saw them - on the written comic book page. When you talk about live-action television and feature films well - "Superhero Team" efforts, especially ones worth their salt when it comes to quality, care and polish well - they're few and far between to be sure. As Marvel's Cinematic Universe continued to build it's stand-alone, but still-in-the-family-of-characters collection of hero films, the rumors and whispers of what everyone hoped to be grand was everywhere. The Avengers. While there are many other Superhero Teams that we've described and reviewed in Perspective Review, The Avengers change everyone's perspective when it comes to cash earning power, quality and stackability when it comes to conjuring the comic book page directly to the silver screen. Be sure to listen to our Perspective Review, detailing The Hype, The Money, The Good, The Bad, The Franchise, and ultimately The Rating of Marvel's Avengers (2012).

Independence Day (1996) – A Perspective Review
Have aliens visited Earth? This question has always been an intriguing one. From the first “contact” we may have had in 1947, the various incidents reporting inside of The Air Force’s “Project Blue Book” to any one of hundreds of documentaries you can find streaming online today – the question “have we been visited” is alive and well. In 1996, Hollywood, and the makers of “STARGATE” gave us a very special feature film that allowed us to dig even further into that question.

It was called “Independence Day” and it was glorious. From the bursting-at-the-seams casting to the ground-breaking and still delightful special effects to impeccably placed humor, we haven’t really been given something as special as Independence Day in a long time. It’s time for you to check out what 2GuysTalking thought of a truly “close encounter” that all of us had, and still remember here on The 2GuysTalking Podcast Network as we dig into The Perspective Review of “Independence Day, 1996, directed by Roland Emmerich.

2GuysTalkingStarWars: The Empire Strikes Back (1983) Perspective Review
Frozen Tundra was a pretty normal phrase for me when I was a kid. Having grown up in Chicago, then Wisconsin, Frozen Tundras were a regular, icy occurrence but - in 1980 - there was a frozen tundra experience that started something completely different in the lives of millions. The Empire Strikes Back - the sequel to a little movie called - STAR WARS. Mount your not yet frozen Tauntaun, Set Your Expectations SUPER HIGH as we speed for cloud city - Bring your forehead high waders and - give the whole Skywalker clan a HAND - because it's time for the 2GuysTalking STAR WARS Perspective Review of "The Empire Strikes Back - 1980- directed by Irvin Kirschner.

The television programs, feature films and streaming media show us amazing action scenes that dazzle us. What would happen if they really DID happen?

No need to wonder any longer! It's time to look down the Dispatch Chain - the formal listing of events that WOULD happen, if the spellbinding events of TV, Movies and streaming program were REAL.

This time - Murtaugh is clearly "too old for this sh*t", as he sits on the throne awaiting thunderous, explosive, porcelain doom. It's time for a real-life Police Dispatcher to take a look at what would happen if The Toilet Bomb Scene from Lethal Weapon II happened in real life.

A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984) – A Perspective Review
The act of dreaming is an important part of our sleeping habits. Dreams are thought of as the brain's way of helping us decompress from the days trials and tribulations. But not all sleep is restful. Sometimes dreams have a nasty habit of going bad. Transforming into nightmares.

If dreams are just movies in our mind, made from a patchwork of memories and feelings swirling in our subconscious, then nightmares are just mental horror films created from life's stresses, with a heaping helping of fear and anger mixed in. Sure, they may be awful at the time, but once we wake up, the terror is over. That is IF we wake up.

For a generation of horror movie goers, nightmares had a burnt face, a dirty red and green sweater and a gloved hand with four razor sharp blades. Brew a pot of coffee, grab a bottle of No-Doze and whatever you do, DON'T FALL ASLEEP as 2GuysTalkingHorror brings you the Perspective Review of 1984's A Nightmare On Elm Street!

Spider-Man: A Perspective Review Series
He’s one of the most beloved characters in comics. Since 1963, we’ve loved Spider-Man. Whether it be because he’s “just like us with ordinary personal and familial problems", or just because he can stick to walls and spin webs, ol’ webhead makes us all weak in the knees when it comes to nostalgia.

Another feature film iteration arrives, this time, courtesy of the juggernaut (ha) Marvel Comics Universe (MCU) which offers a familiar but clearly different flavor for all movie-goers – fanboys or not. The fact is though – this is not your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man’s first rodeo. There have been other iterations that provide LOTS of perspective, value and laughs that The 2GuysTalking Podcast Network has been proud to collect, showcase and share with audiences worldwide.  Below are the links to all of our programs available as well as links to ones we haven’t ye– well – that we have no real interest to get to. Are YOU a fan of the Perspective Reviews we’ve missed so far? Be sure to tell us all about what you think, and with your interest, we’ll consider putting the rest of the Spider-Man cinematic rabble into the Perspective Review crosshairs. Enjoy the programs provided below and be sure to tell us what you think!

Ghostbusters (1984) – A Perspective Review
There are many logos that you can look at around you on your mobile device, your drive home, inside the boob tube and thousands of other places. Only ONE conjures the answer however to the question – who you gonna’ call? In 1984, Ivan Reitman directed a special little feature film, exploring the paranormal, the normal and the comedic inside of the city of New York. It was called – Ghostbusters. It was deliberate. It was fun. It continues to receive stellar reviews even now 30+ years later and is the seed for many new efforts that feature the moniker, “Ghostbusters”. How did the original win hearts? What do YOU think of the original 1984 romp that talks about a gatekeeper, a keymaster, a destructor and – the Stay Puft Marshmellow Man? It’s all here inside The 2GuysTalkingHorror Perspective Review of Ghostbusters, 1984, Directed by Ivan Reitman on The 2GuysTalking Podcast Network. Be sure to tell us what you think!

Die Hard (1988) – A Perspective Review
There is a strange entry that is classified as "the Best Christmas Movie of All Time", and while it features the words, "Ho, Ho, Ho", Merry Christmas, and takes place in December - the FIREWORKS featured inside the movie are the captivating piece of it as we all collectively say, "Yipee-Ki-Yay, Motherf@#%&*!" The words terrorism were a much smaller piece of the world's fabric in 1988, but is a very large piece of one of the most classic action movie tales woven into the history of cinema.

It celebrates it's 30th Birthday this year.

The personalities, the fun, the guns, the running, the explosions and connective reparte' of Die Hard continue to make it clearly a staple in moviedom but why? We take on The Hype, The Money, The Good, The Bad, The Franchise and give it all a ranking as we dig into The Perspective Review of “Die Hard (1988), directed by John McTiernan.

Thor (2011) – A Perspective Review
There's something to be said, when you hear that Hollywood is going to take a Norse God the princess from the STAR WARS prequels, and make a feature film. While originally not a mainstream comic book hero, Thor is one with very interesting storylines, character arcs, and what not too long ago would have been IMPOSSIBLE situations when it comes to film-making. The "Rainbow Bridge?" Right. The "9 Realms where science and magic are the same? Uh, what? Casting someone that can take on the attitude, gravity and indestructible hammer-wielding attitude of a blonde God with a flowing red cape and wing-adorned silver helmet? Get the hell outta' here. The speed-bumps mounted quickly for this one but was Thor able to pull it off? Were we satiated with this entry inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe? There's only one way to find out! Be sure to listen to our Perspective Review, detailing The Hype, The Money, The Good, The Bad, The Franchise, and ultimately The Rating of Thor (2011).

The Incredible Hulk (2008) – A Perspective Review
Big characters often require big actors to jump aboard a movie but - what happens when that's not the case? In fact, what happens when the "star" of the movie will be entirely CGI'd? The answer, in most cases, when so much computer generated art is implemented is often disappointing. Inside 2008's The Incredible Hulk, the Green Goliath is COMPLETELY CGI. Did it float? Did it help to drive the provided storyline or did it become a piece of the uncrossable uncanny valley so much that we all fell into it? There's only one way to find out! Be sure to listen to our Perspective Review, detailing The Hype, The Money, The Good, The Bad, The Franchise, and ultimately The Rating of The Incredible Hulk (2008).

Iron Man 2 (2010) – A Perspective Review
The original changed the way we ALL think about "those stupid comic book movies" and served as the first of many cinematic offerings that continue to change what we think of comic book nostalgia. Inside 2010's Iron Man 2, we revisit the red and gold suit (albeit an altered suit, along with a suitcase suit - ha!) to learn more about a Stark rival, his son, and the US Government's always-available thirst for more technology to rule the world. Director Jon Favreau and Tony Stark himself, Robert Downey Jr. return in this second installment that we put squarely into the Perspective Review crosshairs! Be sure to listen to our Perspective Review, detailing The Hype, The Money, The Good, The Bad, The Franchise, and ultimately The Rating of Iron Man 2 (2010).

Iron Man (2008) – A Perspective Review
There's a lot more to Iron Man than a suit of iron. The history of Marvel Comics has grown exponentially providing cinematic visages of more paper-based heroes than we could have originally imagined. The film that started the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) run, was a movie directed by Jon Favreau, starring Robert Downey Jr.. Iron Man (2008) provided the first of many outstanding "brought-to-life-from-the-page" moments and serves as the starting point for those of you that have somehow missed the entire comic book movie freight train. Be sure to listen to our Perspective Review of Iron Man, detailing The Hype, The Money, The Good, The Bad, The Franchise, and ultimately The Rating of Iron Man (2008).
