OxPod #3: George Hofstetter (Worcester College, Summer Programme / Stanford University / The Other Place, Summer Programme)

George is a 22-year-old Software Engineer, University Innovation Fellow at Stanford University, CEO, Motivational Speaker, and Business Consultant.

At 16, George started GHTech Inc. to help Black and Brown students gain entry into technology as innovators, not just consumers.

George has built various online networks throughout his career including; a platform that connects Black and Brown students across the United States, teaching computer science and design thinking workshops in South Africa and London, and creating an app that combats police brutality. George combats systemic oppression within technology development, to help marginalized communities of color use technology as an alternative tool for transformative education.

George’s recent projects include a social networking app for California-based non-profit Kingmakers of Oakland, appearing in the documentary, Use of Force: The policing of Black America, creating the (in)Visible Designers series at Stanford University’s d.school and writing for the University of Oxford’s, The Oxford Blue.

OxPod #2: Luther R (BA Experimental Psychology, St. Catherine's College)

Luther joins Rick once again to discuss psychology, meditation, and the connection between professional c-sections and that one scene from the movie Alien.

The audio quality has been upped on my end, hopefully it makes for a more enjoyable listening experience.

You can find Luther under the name: @luthersonline on Instagram and Youtube.

Mentioned during the show was a 6-month free student subscription to the Waking Up meditation app. Find it here: https://app.wakingup.com/scholarship?options=1
