A sigh of relief finally came over him as he walked off the badly battered shipped named the Hopewell. Smoke could be clearly seen out in the distance which was coming from the same location he last saw his friends and family at Roanoke. I could imagine him wondering how different they all looked after 3 years of being away from them. His granddaughter Virginia Dire who was the first English settler to be born in the "New World" had to be almost 3 now I bet she was unrecognizable.
Little did he know once he and his men stepped foot back on that island, they would never be the same again. You see once they arrived back at Roanoke they weren't welcomed by cheers of the colonist or the laughter of children playing. They were welcomed with nothing but the silence of empty houses and torn down walls. After 3 years of no contact with the outside world The Colony of Roanoke and all 115 settlers were gone without a trace.
This is the story of the Lost Colony of Roanoke, welcome to Origin Mysteries.

Hard work usually pays off and when it comes to marriage it’s the same. Each day I wake up to the most amazing woman I know. We have been together for almost our entire lives. Each day we are tested, weather it’s the world, work or just a simple marriage dispute. We will be tested. But nothing could prepare for what was about to change our lives forever. The moment when we thought the time had finally came and we would leave this life. At breakfast time I was sitting down in my chair outside, like I do every morning and I decided to look up. The sky was splitting in two and fire appeared high and wide over the forest near our house. The split in the sky grew larger, and the entire northern side was covered with fire. At that moment I became so hot that I couldn't bear it as if my shirt was on fire; from the northern side, where the fire was, came strong heat. I wanted to tear off my shirt and throw it down, but then the sky shut closed, and a strong thump sounded, and I was thrown a few feet.

Harker is told the history of Transylvania via the Count and in exchange Harker tells him of English life. The Count then forces him to right letters to his loved ones back in England and warns him to never fall asleep outside of his room. However, feeling like a prisoner, Harker ignores the Counts warnings, and opens a locked door and falls asleep inside. He is this visited by three beautiful women with inhumanly red lips and sharp teeth. The women approach him, filling him with a wicked, burning desire. Just as one bends over and places her lips against his neck, the Count sweeps in.

Have you ever been passed a wreck that had just happened with a bunch of other people around you? During that time did you look around to see if someone else had called the police? Possibly even seeing a few people on their phones and assumed they did, so you decided to leave? But what if no one actually did and because of this that person in the wreck actually didn’t get help in time.
This method of thinking was labeled the Bystander Effect. Which basically comes down to that its more likely for someone to call the police if there are only a few witnesses. In a large group, people take cues from others or they think someone else will take action, so they don’t have to. One of the first victims of such effect was a young woman named Catherine Genovese or as her friends called her "Kitty". According to police she was violently stabbed numerous times, robbed and sexually assaulted, even though over 38 people knew what was happening, they simply did nothing.

The Carbon Copy Murders
Whit Monday is a popular holiday for a lot of different European countries and is celebrated the day after Pentecost. On this day, that can change depending on the year, everyone is usually off of work and get together with their friends and family in order to celebrate. This day is particularly important to a small town in Birmingham, England call Erdington. This beautiful town has a lot of history to it because it has existed since the 9th century. Unfortunately some of its history is quite dark and in 1975 it seemed to get even darker. On May 27th of that same year, on Whit Monday, the body of a 20 year old girl named Barbara Forrest was found. Her clothes were ripped, and her body and neck were both severely bruised. It wasn’t until the lead investigator got to the scene and saw the victims face that this murder changed into one of Erdington biggest mysteries. This is the story of the Carbon Copy Murders, Welcome to Origin Mysteries.
