The Most Infamous Cold Case | The Black Dahlia
Way back in 1947, the most infamous unsolved case in American history happened. A young woman was found in a vacant lot in Los Angeles, that young woman was Elizabeth Short, a young woman with hopes and dreams of becoming a Hollywood starlet. Before the investigation could even get going, the media dubbed her the Black Dahlia, and the rest is history. Alone in the Woods | Gary Hilton
Gary Hilton, AKA The National Forest Serial Killer was a man who stalked the national forests in the Carolina's and Florida in the early - mid 2000's. He was convicted of killing four people, however the number is suspected to higher as he was caught in his 60's. It's very unlikely that somebody like him started killing so late in life, and given the nature of his crimes, and the location of his hunting grounds, it would be very difficult to determine his exact kill count. The Worst Time To Go Missing | Sneah Philip
Back in '01, September of '01... The 10th of September '01 to be exact, a young aspiring doctor went missing. For those of you who were alive during the time know what that means, and the rest would have learned about it in history class. That fateful September the world changed, and with it lives changed. No more so than the Philip family. Sneah went out on the night of the 10th, and was never seen again. Naturally many assumed she perished in the 9/11 attacks, but it took years for that acknowledgment to happen. Even though her official cause of death was due to the attacks, there is still some speculation about what really happened to her the night before the 11th. Trust me when I say not everything was what it seemed. Paypal Merch:  www.redbubble.com/people/horrorshots Youtube Website: Horror Shots Instagram: ominousoriginspod Facebook: Horrorshots

The Biggest Bible Ever | Codex Gigas
Two days in a row? I know. It's a special treat for you! But really, I had the motivation and found a really neat topic that I just wanted to share with you. This is the Codex Gigas, or the Devil's Bible. It's super interesting, and has kind of a cool legend behind it. A Girl Who Vanished | Melanie Ethier Part 1
This is one of those weird cases. A girl walked home alone, about a ten minute walk, only she never made it home. The girl in question is Melanie Ethier, she was 15. After watching a movie at her friend's house, she was never seen again. The town of New Liskeard and the surrounding communities had a total population of about 11,000 people, so crimes of this nature weren't all that common. The investigation lead nowhere. And to this day, there has been next to no evidence or leads as to what happened to Melanie Ethier. Abracadabra The Disappearing Bully | Ken McElroy
If there's one story with a moral out there, it's the one of Ken McElroy. He was a bully, well, he was more than that. He was human refuse. From skirting jailtime for some serious offences, to attempted murder, Ken did it all. And because of his deeds, he paid the ultimate price. His murder was never solved, but that wasn't even the shocking part of this case. He's Got His Eye On You | Balor
Balor was the leader of the Fomorians in Irish Myth. He was a tyrant and warrior in Irish Folklore. He had a big ol' eye that caused all kinds of crazy crap. He was pretty badass, to be honest, and he was relegated to a sponge. What in the hell does that mean? Well, listen to find out! Horses are cute | Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
Disclaimer: I'm bird sitting, and the little bugger literally never stops chirping or screaming. I understand if you want to skip this one as he's very present throughout. This week I'm talking about end times, and the most obvious sign that tends to herald it in: The Four Horsemen. Yup, those cheery chaps who ride in carrying war, famine, disease, and of course, death. This is, of course, the Biblical rendition of what occurs when Jesus has had enough of us, but it's still interesting nonetheless.  Our sponsor: www.morbidlybeautiful.com Merch:  www.redbubble.com/people/horrorshots Youtube Website: Horror Shots Instagram: ominousoriginspod Twitter: @horrorshotsprod Facebook: Horrorshots Patreon: www.patreon.com/horrorshots

Who Shot That Guy? | The Killing of Scott Guy
New Zealand, 2010 is our setting for today's episode, for that is where the poor soul known as Scott Guy was unceremoniously gunned down in the driveway of the farm he partly owned. While there were some persons of interest, the police really only ever focused on one suspect: Scott's brother-in-law, Ewen Macdonald.  Between behavioral issues on Macdonald's side, and family drama basically everywhere, Ewen was arrested and went to trial for the murder of Scott Guy, but was he found guilty, or is the true culprit still at large to this day? Love and War | Ishtar
So, let's pretend the last five months didn't happen (god, how I wish that were true...), and that this episode went up directly after the last :). Anyway, I'm back with an episode that is sort of a shout out to the origins of this podcast: Ancient Myths! Specifically Mesopotamia. I really do love this era, and it's sort of like the origins of all modern cultural lore. Today we're talking about the Wonder Woman of ancient history: Ishtar. She was the goddess of love, but also war! How cool is that. She's both a lover and a fighter, which is super badass. Anyway, listen to the episode for all the goodies! The Exorcism of Anneliese Michel
The case that inspired a few different movies and shows, the case of Anneliese Michel is one of the most important exorcism cases in history. Not only was in controversial in within the church, but also within the justice system. It went to court, and charges were indeed laid. Don’t Go Night Swimming | Michelle Von Emster
When a body washed ashore near San Diego, it was a mystery as to what happened. Missing limbs and pieces of flesh torn from the body, many assumed it was a vicious shark attack. But upon closer inspection, that may not have been the case. Many Autopsies, and a few reexaminations later. shark attack was ruled out. So what happened to Michelle Von Emster that fateful day in April of '94? Operation Midnight Climax
I got nothing for a witty title here. Operation Midnight Climax was an off-shoot of sorts of MKUltra, so you know it's got some terrible stuff associated with it. From LSD and other mind-altering drugs, to blackmail and mind control, Midnight Climax had it all when it comes to shady government experiments on its unknowing, and non-consenting public! Some People Suck | Richard Speck
While maybe not as known as say Ted Bundy, Richard Speck was still a notorious criminal who slipped through the cracks of the justice system one too many times. One night in 1966, Speck broke into a boarding house for nurses at a local hospital, and murdered 8 women. This is Specks story in part.  Spoiler: He's a piece of crap. My Apartment Caught On Fire | Let’s Talk About Another One
Yes, my apartment went up in a blaze. Thankfully the fire department was quick and nobody was injured, but much of the complex got damaged. The unit that caught was below me, and I had my windows open at the time (wasn't home when it started), so sadly my microphone got damaged by a mixture of smoke and heat. There will be a donation link below if you care to help fund a new one. But today's episode is about a fire as well. One that claimed far too many lives in New Orleans in 1973. Listen for the whole story surrounding the 1973 UpStairs lounge fire. Jaws, But In Real Life | The Shark Arm Murder
Sorry for the lateness of this, but you should expect that by now...   The Shark Arm Murders refer to a notorious criminal case that took place in Sydney, Australia, in 1935. The case gained significant media attention due to its bizarre and macabre nature.  In April 1935, a large tiger shark was caught in the waters near Coogee Beach. When the shark was displayed at the Coogee Aquarium Baths, it vomited out a human arm with a rope tied around its wrist. The arm was promptly identified as belonging to James Smith, a missing ex-boxer and small-time criminal.
