Prof. John Colarusso speaks bzedukh, ubykh, and 16 more languages. He studied North Caucasian linguistics, myths, folklore and cultures since 1960s. He has written two books on Nart Sagas, ossetian and adyghe, and working on his chechen collection.
I had a chance to talk with him, and asked about the North Caucasian myths, and their place in the wider context. I learned that, for example, Prometheus comes from North Caucasus, and that Medea was probably circassian.
