Of The Sword
Empire of the Echowood
When a human traveler wanders through a mysterious doorway, they find themselves on the threshold of a strange inn, lost in another world. Inside, they meet an old sprite named Grael – one part innkeeper, two parts storyteller, and one part deposed trickster god. The sprite uses a series of strange, interconnected tales to teach them about the twisted fairytale realm they’ve stumbled into… Only for the traveler to realize that Grael might not be as trustworthy as he seems, and the Echowood more dangerous than they could have imagined. Find out more about Tales of the Echowood here! Episode transcript here. This episode includes themes of imperialism and warfare, mentions of death, violence, and torture, dread, and implied body horror. Wandering the forest outside the inn, the Traveler stumbles across a broken sword, abandoned beneath the trees. Worried at what this strange artifact of war might mean, Grael tells them of the rise and fall of Etrius Oakheart: the first, last, and only emperor of the Echowood. Starring Sam Taylor as Grael, with original music by Jesse Haugen. Written and produced by Trevor Van Winkle, and made possible by our supporters on Kickstarter, Patreon.com/homesteadcorner, and ko-fi.com/homesteadcorner. Executive produced by Axel Allcock. The Olive Branch
Dr. Edison Tucker is having a very weird life. Not being able to die tends to color things that way. Lucille Kensington is the literary scene’s biggest enigma. That’s just the way she likes it. When the pair find themselves sharing a cabin in the strangest town in America— Jerusalem, OR— they’re prepared for a housemate situation from hell. What they’re not expecting is tidings of a stranger sort: Ed is the antichrist, Lucy her guardian angel, and if they can’t find a way to work together soon, the rapture is set to take first the town, then the world… but neither of them know that yet. Welcome to Jerusalem, OR, where what doesn’t kill you is just another mystery. In this episode, a scientist comes to town. Transcript here. Exit, Pursued by a Ghost
Hubris is a labor of love from a chaotic group of podcasters who decided a 24-hour podcast challenge sounded like a good idea. We assembled several Creative Teams from a large group of podcasters from around the world, made up of writers, audio producers, and voice actors to create a single-episode fiction podcast within a 24-hour period from start to finish. An understudy is tasked with learning the lead role overnight before making their big debut. The trouble is, that’s a bit difficult to do when the theatre is distractingly haunted...will the ghosts help or hinder their attempts to get off-book? This episode contains some swearing and sword fighting sounds. Transcript here. Writers - Caroline Mincks, Molly Alexander. Script Editors - Caroline Mincks, Molly Alexander. Director - Cole Burkhardt. Dialogue Editor - Cole Burkhardt. Sound Designer - Trace Callahan. Composer - Trace Callahan. Transcriber - Caroline Mincks. Cassie Hayes was voiced by Molly Alexander, Daniel Proctor was voiced by Cole Burkhardt, Ms. Torres was voiced by Trace Callahan, and Cecily Wolverhampton and Stage Manager Tabitha were voiced by Caroline Mincks.
