Recorded on Mother's Day weekend, 2020, this episode focuses on Ginnie and celebrates her selfless love with memories from her children and letters from late December, 1942.

December 8-18, 1942.  Jimmy awaits his shipment from Basic Training and looks forward to the next leg of his journey.

News from home, pictures sent back and forth, Jimmy enjoys a few shows and Ginnie begins working.

In 1942 my grandparents were newlyweds, separated by war.  This is their love story, the foundation of my family.  This trailer includes "The Red Letter" which is featured in Season 1, Episode 3.

Christmas shopping in Cincinnati, drills and movies in Miami.  Ginnie sends news of current events and finds something to do with her evenings while Jimmy has a meeting about the next stage of his training.  The disagreement about money continues, and Ginnie pens the Red Letter.

As Jimmy begins drilling in Miami, and Ginnie settles into her new life in Cincinnati, they celebrate Thanksgiving apart.
