This is part two of Psalm 119:105-112. The ending of part one cut out when I was preaching on verse 112, so here is the rest of verse 112 to the end! I was trying to mute my microphone because I was coughing that wasn’t working so then the episode ended on its own and I was very confused lol. Oddly enough; the audio on this one seems to be a lot better than part 1, please pray that I can figure this out as to why the audio isn’t always working because I thought I bought the right part to fix it last week.

At the end of this episode, I thought I muted my microphone so that you guys would not hear me cough so I apologize, but this is part one of the next eight lines the writer writes. This episode goes through only part of verse 112 and then part 2 is the rest! In these next eight lines, the psalmist continues to plead his heart before the Lord as he talks about God’s word, how it is “firmly fixed” in the Heavens, he continues to reassure himself by looking at previous witnesses that God had helped because the Psalmist sees himself in those same situations compared to those whom The Lord helped. And then in the end, he sees that his obedience is not necessarily ‘perfection’ and gives God glory.

In verses 81-88, the writer starts to show us more of him experiencing the well-known Proverb, Proverbs 13:12; “ hope deferred makes the heart sick but a desire for filled as a tree of life.” He writes what some to know as “Hebraic poetry” in reference to his trials; but again, and again he reassure himself of seeing God’s continued direction in his life and His obedience to it.

Through part 10 in this series of Psalm 119 the writer is continuing to experience Proverbs 13:12, his hope has been prolonged yet again as people continually deride him for his righteous living before God. There is continual reassurance he gives himself through the season amidst the lies the Israelites accuse him with because of what Yahweh has taught him through discipline, discernment, and personal experience with God. He then reassure people who are on the same path to ground themselves in the same truth.

In these next eight lines, the writer brings a heart posture of gratitude to the Lord for many things that happened to him as he looks back in his life. He looks at afflictions that happened to him by the proud insulting him, pain by falling in the sin, but seeing the joy from it all. How can we do the same? Let’s dive in together and see :)
Through verses 57-64 the wicked continue to deride the psalmist, he’s longing for God’s deliverance, reassuring himself that he is on the right path amidst delay and trial, and continuing to remember God’s faithfulness to those who walk this narrow path.

In versus 49-56 the Psalmist is continuing to experience delay in the promises God has personally given him. He continues down the paths God has told him to take, holding onto God’s law, but continues to see the proud “deride” him. He then sees the pain in his heart of those who continue to disobey God and see the judgment coming to them and is sorrowful over it if they don’t repent. Verse 56 the writer sees the silver lining in all of this; seeing the beauty of God’s grace in his life by obeying God in many different ways.

In today’s part 5 through Psalm 119 the writer starts with the next Hebrew letter in the Hebrew alphabet translated; “He.” The psalmist is praying that God “teaches” him many things, and says some things to those who mock him, very well could be the same people from verses 22-23, how does he handle it in prayer? When we obey Gods commands, weather through reading His word, or hearing from Him personally and we obey, there will be people close or far that will oppose us, they may slander and put us down, but what do we do in those moments? What does it mean to find our ultimate joy in Christ? There are many ways this can be seen but in today’s episode I wanted to pick a few scriptures where we see the Greek word for “rejoice” “AGI-LI-AH-OH” show up. Then do a deep dive into Romans 7 when seeing we have repented from certain sins but yet there’s still others that Paul says “lie right at hand.” At that point how do we find our joy in Christ when battling sin? I’ll be answering all these questions the best I can by the help of The Holy Spirit.

How should we view prayers that are surrounded by battling to find hope in the midst of constant hopelessness and depression? Does God hear our prayers that seem “too much” to other believers, does God hear prayers that are bound up in hopelessness and end in no hope? In today’s episode, we will be looking at a particular Psalm in 88; where a man described in scripture named Heman (not the one in Esther) battles depression and PTSD from his youth up; yet continues to call out to God “day and night.”

In today’s episode, I wanna talk about seeing the Holy Spirit in our character, but also answering the question of do I have the Holy Spirit? I’m going to do a deep exposit on Galatians 5:22-23 and look at some good commentary to reach as many people as possible. There has also been the teaching of “ if you don’t speak in tongues, you don’t have the Holy Spirit and you’re probably not even saved” and this is heretical, and I’m excited to explain to you guys why this is a huge issue in those who say that in their own character.
