A couple months ago that we spun the wheel of random movies and selected 10 on the show. Well we finally watch them all and have a lot of thoughts. There are quite a few directors who absolutely blew the doors off with their first feature film. We have been combing through and tried to find our favorites to try to create the most powerful teams of debut films. We also spin ten random movies we should all watch within the next six weeks (find more details about where to watch on Instagram). And finally, it took five years and tens of dozens of episodes, but after a comedy of errors Jake finally breaks down in the most ridiculous and uncontrollable giggle fit just trying to make technology work. I considered taking it out, but I've left in all Dustin's bloopers over the years, so I guess I was due. Sorry.

This episode, we finally return to taping into a full director's filmography (mostly). Guy Ritchie has been crazy busy lately, movies and shows coming out all the time. While some see his career as being very up and down, we review and speculate why the misteps make sense, and why some of his flops deserve more credit than they get. We discuss his original short film: The Hard Case, in addition to Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Swept Away, Revolvr, RocknRolla, Sherlock Holmes & Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Aladdin, The Gentlemen, Wrath of Man, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, The Covenant, and Dustin's favorite movie of 2024 - Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (we only both didn't have time for Fountain of Youth and MobLand). It's also amazing how many times his work should have launched massive franchises, but didn't. We still hold out hope for revivals in the future!

John Wick holds such a special place in our hearts, that it's incredible to look back and realize it came so close to never happening so many times. This episode we thank Keanu Reeves for his dedication and for saving and transforming action movies not once, but TWICE! We dive deep into spoilers of all four movies, and try to emphasize the lore and meanings of each character in this high-fantasy world with gritty, real world violence. We also get deep into all the characters and why they work so well, not just because of how they're portrayed, but their deeper mythological meanings as well. And finally, we speculate about the future of this rich world and spinoffs and a confirmed 5th movie abound. We definitely look forward to Ballerina, Caine, and Chapter 5 whatever it ends up being, and despite any fears, have total faith in the creators (as long as they stay attached).

After enjoying our first ever Fog Day celebration last year, as April 21st approached again we wanted to take things to the next level. Dustin flies solo in this bonus interview with a very talented and inspiring young filmmaker: J.R. Stokes, who recently released his very first feature film: EdgeX. If you recall our previous interview about his short film Headstone of Solitude, then you remember we were very interested in his next project because that stylized, period, short showed so much promise. We can definitely say, we weren't disappointed. They guys discuss the process of making a first movie, and the premiering and reception of it. As well as the dark subject matter and influences within the world and from other media. Definitely check it out and support young, original filmmakers who are out there doing something new and exciting for all the right reasons.

2024 is a big year for LOST fans! The show had a major impact on us individually (possibly more than any other), and also is a huge factor that contributed to us becoming friends in the first place. We tackle the huge challenge of discussing the most amount of content and characters we've ever taken on in an episode. Even though we can't cover everything, we do go through all the high and low points of the vast cast of characters, and the general arcs of each season. SPOILER ALERT! We get into heavy spoilers about Lost (and a little of Game of Thrones). If you still haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and enjoy.
