On the episode I defend new school music (music I'm growing up on), against old school music (the music my parents grow up on). I understand that my parents music used code words and descriptions to suggest sex, where today's music just says it. Also, today's music is destroying a generations by having no morals in the music. I think my parents make good points, take a listen and see which ones you agree with.

My mom and talked about the education system and what kids should be learning. However, what we should be learning and what we are learning is two different things. The other thing we talk about is how technology is hurting the learning process and hindering kids from thinking for themselves.
It's funny how my mom and I have different views on voting. I realize on this episode that I really don't understand the whole voting thing. It's more then just picking a person to lead. With out goals they are just traveling along letting things happen to them, instead of making things happen. Podcast are becoming a great way to get information out into the universe. People love listening to books being read, talk radio and now podcast. My mom and I wanted to do a podcast as a way for parents and kids to find a way to have real conversations beyond just text messages. On this episode we share with you how you can use the information in the podcast, the best time to listen to podcast and how you can support us.
We have all heard of them, the Crack your Skull challenge, the Snorting challenge, the Condom challenge and many more. My mom and I talk about what the different challenges are and why kids are doing them. We also give advise to parents on how they can keep an eye on what their kids and their friends are in to. It's important that parents explain to their kids why doing these challenges are dangerous and could possibly get them into legal trouble.
On this episode we discuss a poem entitled, "Black Girl" that was written by Cassie Henderson. The poem talks about how a black girl views herself from her hair, facial features to skin tone. It goes on to talk about how black girls need to get comfortable in their own skin. Remember this is from the viewpoint of a 12 year old.
She then wrote another poem talking about how important it is for kids to listen to their parents.
As parents dealing with their kids, there is a level attitudes that you have to deal with. The will get an attitude because you asked them to do something, or want let them do something they want to do. They even get an attitude when you promise something, but have to delay doing it. Cas and I discuss the reasons that she gets an attitude and I provide my opinion on why it's not attitude worthy.
Everyday we hear different things in the news and our child also here. On this episode I take time to get Cassie view on the hot topics of the week. The first being DeAndre Arnold, the young man who would not cut his dreadlocks in order to graduate with his class. He decided to change schools in protest to not cut his hair. His actions has sparked a lot of discuss and a bill to be introduced in a bill to the Texas Legislation.
Then we move on to discuss the gender identification of Zion(Zaya) had. She is the same age as Cassie, so I thought it was important to hear her perspective on that.
Forming bonds are important in life. Learning how to foster relationships the correct way is what allows us to share our life with others. Learning how to support others with our words and actions is a part of life and growing up. Also, learning how to receive support and love is also important for a great life experience.
There is a big difference between Adults and young girls concerning their hair. Older ladies grow up on relaxers and ashamed of their natural hair. Society at that time viewed natural has as ugly and. unattractive. We were made to believe that straight hair was the best. Thank God, our daughters, grand-daughters and nieces are growing up in a time where they are embracing their natural hair and the beauty of it.
This is our "why" we are doing the Podcast. In today's world there are so many distractions and families are finding it difficult to communicate. A quick text message here and there is not real communication. Our kids are finding themselves having to deal with things some adults have not had to face. This is our way of making it a little easier to have those conversations.
