How have sloths been able to survive for millions of years in a seemingly cutthroat world? Not only have they been able to hang in there, but they have thrived many times in Earth's history. There is even a big sloth mystery that continues to elude scientists today.

Our minds categorize and make snap judgments to navigate life, but these efficiencies in the brain are sometimes a source of human suffering. Cooperation, forming groups, and relating with others close to us is one of the joys of life, but it can have a cost of excluding or discrimination.
How many of our biases are the product of evolution? How much of a role does upbringing and culture influence what we think about outsiders?
