Welcome
Following is an overview and personal opinion. Not a detailed discussion of all the pros and cons. Not a demonstration of technique. Not an assessment of competence and certainly not medical advice.
The management is described in increasing order of difficulty, from something a bystander may be able to do without specialised equipment, to more complex management that does need specialised equipment and monitoring.
All of this discussion assumes that ur casualty has one injury only. But chances are they they'll have more, for which you need a deeper understanding of how to deal with that.

Next in the management of multiple injured patient comes the assessment of breathing or ventilation and that mostly comprises of looking after chest injuries of various types
The reason we worry about a patient's airway is because after catastrophic haemorrhage, that is the thing that can k*ll your patient the quickest.
If u r dealing with a conscious patient, they probably will tell you that they are able to breathe well.
Catastrophic haemorrhage means a lot of bleeding within a short span of time, an amount of bleeding that has to be stopped or at least stemmed before even the basic assessment and treatment of the patient can be done.
However important to realise that this could also be a slow trickle over an extended period of time. Something you regularly see across your screens at Israeli checkpoints up and down the Palestinian territories.

Acellular dermal matrices come with many names, like regeneration templates, scaffolds and from a variety of sources. They are considered to provide soft tissue thickness and support in selected aesthetic and reconstructive cases. What makes them apart from the other techniques in the reconstructive ladder? or just, what makes them? Is that enough to justify the, usually hefty, price tag?
These questions and a few more. We talk about in this episode of this podcasts for plastic surgeons. Please send your feedback to twitter handle @drmcheema or just DM.

One of the most common aesthetic surgery operations, is the probably the most hotly contested one in its every aspect- patient selection, implant selection, incision, operative details, post care, secondary cases, long term sequelae. And that is truly because we would like to offer our patients, the very best care- based on the very best evidence- by letting it augment our own knowledge and experience. This episode is intended to raise the curtain from this magical universe.
Then is a brief review of selected literature from this month and first impressions. May be you'd like to add to the conversation, correct something, or just want to leave a feedback. Please do so replying to Twitter handle @drmcheema

UK BCC guidelines: Fact or fiction? 😋 We look at the current UK BCC guidelines as well as the evidence behind some of their important recommendations. Do you know how many RCTs are they based on? Or what cohort of patients does the evidence come from? How current is "current"? We explore all these.
And also whizz through some of the interesting papers in this month's PRS journal... Coapting sensory nerves for DIEP flaps and doing needle aponeurectomies, just like old times 😃
