After reading the @cyclingnewsmag and the Grand Fondo Road Wheel aero testing articles, here are my reflections on what I learnt, or want to know more about. Those @ScopecyclingOfficial wheels are getting noticed and achieving great results in testing at least. I also learn where @princetoncarbonworks1235 really sit in terms of weight, price and aero. the Cycling news article is here: https://www.cyclingnews.com/features/wind-tunnel-tested-road-bike-wheels-2024/#section-the-test the grand fondo article is here: https://granfondo-cycling.com/best-roadbike-wheels/ learn more about us at mapdec.com or our main channel @Mapdec
This podcast is our discussion and reaction to the podcast by Dr Peter Attia with TJ Pogacar about his training, and general awareness of his fitness, capacity and nutrition. you can watch the interview here: https://youtu.be/m9yjbJJBjHU?si=ZgdvbGTL_VW3Tdw3
We discuss the recent posts by @Hambini about the frame quality matrix and how the decisions to spec certain quality levels might be taken. Also... That Campagnolo Groupset, the new round the world record and more entry level groupset leaks.
Jake and I discuss the real lack of appealing quality product available at the entry and mid tier prices for cyclists. We reflect on groupsets that are almost a decade old and offer no upgrade path, and at prices that are almost on par with the next tiers up. It looks like a tough time to attract new riders to the sport and retain existing ones. We reflect on the end of Campagnolo Veloce, the extremely outdated Shimano Tiagra and the heavy and overpriced SRAM Apex.
Jake and I discuss the recent mass aero test done by Cycling News in August 2024. We talk though the results and discuss how they relate to our experience.

The bikes on test and discussed were:
We discuss what we know about the long awaited Time Scylon aero bike that is rumoured to launch in 45 to 60 days time. We take a look at the new Colnago Rim Brake bike as well as discuss some regular chit chat like SRAM brake pads, FOX suspension down 40% and other little nuggets.
Did SRAM spoil a perfectly reasonable and required update just to one up Shimano? We think so. Some great little improvements including a method to swap chainrings on power meter cranks. We discuss the recent launch of the SRAM red 1 x13 Gravel groupset, XPLR and some of it's quirks Remember you can listen on Spotify, Apple and Amazon Podcasts too, as well as view the Vodcast on the special Vodcast YouTube Channel.
We sat down with Mike & Andy from Enduro Bearings to ask the questions from you that we see in the comments of our YouTube channel. Things like, are NTN bearings better like Hambini suggests, and are ceramic bearings worth it?
There is a shorter version of this Vodcast with further insight on the main YouTube channel.
This was not paid, or sponsored in any way. However, as a cycling shop we do supply Enduro bearings, among others, to our customers as appropriate to their needs.
Jake and I discuss the accusation by Guillaume Martin that he lost at the 2024 Tour de France because his bike was too heavy. We have spent a lot of time wrenching with some of the best road bikes on the market, we have weighed them, ridden them and think we have a few ideas where that weight might or might not be.
