How does PEACEFUL PARENTING work?

How do we discipline kids without punishments (including time-out), rewards, bribes or threat?

There is so much more to be said to fully answer this question, but this is the core of it...

Peaceful Parenting means that we respect each other.
From respect comes trust.
From trust comes deep connection.

When our kids feel deeply connected with us, when they feel that we trust them, when we respect them on a daily basis, they're NATURALLY willing to follow our guidance, so we don't need any punishment, rewards, bribes, etc.

To that, I'll add that it's harder for our kids to follow our guidance when they're holding onto pent-up emotions and unresolved trauma. But that is the subject of another video ;-)

Remember, we don't need to be perfect parents: it's ok to make mistakes, so long as we own them and try to do it better next time <3

How to REDUCE TANTRUMS

Tantrums are a signal that our child is overwhelmed and/or angry because some of his needs are not met.

By playing as little as 5 minutes a day of "Attachment Play" type games, we can fill up his need for connection and dramatically reduce the likeliness of tantrums.

I know we're all busy... but let me ask you, lovely Mamas and Papas:

Do you feel that you could fit 5 minutes of Attachment Play a day, knowing that it could avoid a 30min tantrum?

"Attachment Play" type games are the games I teach in my online courses and workshops.

They're very simple, fun and healing. <3

Why DO kids become AGGRESSIVE?

In our society, we keep telling our children to "be nice" all the time 😇 to not express any sign of frustration...

But let's be real: no-one can be nice all. day. long. every day.

Sometimes we're angry 😤

Anger is a normal and healthy emotion to have, just like joy or sadness.

When we have a healthy way to express frustration, we don't hold onto it... and we're more relaxed.

👉 It's true for our kids too: if they have a healthy outlet for their frustration, they'll tend to be less aggressive and much more relaxed.

Would you like to know what games you can play with your child to help him express his frustration without hurting anyone?
Stay tuned xx

Are you PARENTING with RESPECT?

This is who I am,
This is how I raise my daughter every day,
This is what my work is based on.
<3

No "tricks", no punishments, no rewards, no bribes, no threat.

Instead:
Nurturing, deep trust, mutual respect, guidance and honest communication.

Is it easy to do?
No, because most of us haven't been raised this way... but we can learn how to do things differently.

Do you resonate with this approach lovely Mama?

How EMOTIONS affect our children's BEHAVIOUR

Children are little humans.

When they're frustrated, they're more likely to become aggressive, just like we do.

In those moments, they need help to negotiate those big feelings without hurting anyone...

Sending you and your little humans lots of Love xx

TANTRUMS: What happens when we STAY and LISTEN?

Tantrums are NOT, a type of "misbehaviour".

Through tantrums, children are expressing REAL emotions such as anger, frustration and despair.

Those emotions feel big to them and they need our support while they feel them so they can process them safely.

The best we can do when our child is having a tantrum, is to:
- stay with our child (leaving him alone will only increase his distress)
- stay as calm and grounded as possible ourselves (so his nervous system can co-regulate and calm down)

You've got this, Mama <3

Why do babies CRY?

I wish someone had explained that to me when my daughter was born...

Babies cry for two main reasons:

1. To meet their NEEDS ✨

We know that babies cry when they're hungry, cold or uncomfortable.
In other words, when they have a NEED that needs to be met.

And it's important to do everything we can to meet their needs as soon as possible so they feel better (and they stop crying).

But there is another reason why babies cry:

2. To express their FEELINGS or to release some STRESS ✨

After a stressful day, after having had a fright, to heal from a difficult birth, or to express their sadness or anger, babies will cry to express their emotions, release some stress and heal.

Crying is a natural healing mechanism we're all born with.

And the best we can do in that case, is to lovingly hold baby in our arms, to stay calm and to reassure her that we're there with her, that we see her and hear her. <3

I wish someone had told that me when I had my baby...

👉 When you've tried everything (changing nappy, fed, put on/taking of clothes, etc.) and baby is still crying, it could be that all she needs is for you to calmly listen to her feelings with compassion, so she can feel heard, release some stress and feel relaxed again. <3

With lots of Love to all the new Mamas out there.

You've got this.
