Let Me Introduce You is a podcast hosted by Graham Veth, Katie Kubert and Ashley Krohn. We’ve known each other nearly 20 years (starting back in film school) and have stayed close friends ever since.

We know...everything about one another and have far, far too much in common. Except, our taste in movies. Seriously, there is very little overlap….

Each week, one of us will introduce the others to one of our favorites. The catch is that one of us has to be seeing it for the first time.

From Troop Beverly Hills to Hellraiser; Clue to Nightmare on Elm Street; Barbarella to Step Up 2: The Streets, no movie is off the table (even if we find it’s not our cup of tea…).

Let Me Introduce You
S4E13 - Ernest Scared Stupid
Trick or Treat! This week, Graham introduces the gang to the 1991 spooky comedy "Ernest Scared Stupid" - a movie that (for real) terrified him as a child. Graham? Scared of something? Say it isn't so! We also discuss other spooky movies from our youth, our admiration of Eartha Kitt, and the perils of getting older (Ashley's poor knee!). Stay safe out there kids, and Happy Halloween! ALSO, apologize ahead of time for some audio issues...Graham got a little carried away with his enthusiasm.

S4E12 - The Guest
This week, we welcome in Adam Wingard's 2014 thriller The Guest! Listen to us swoon over the sexy (and dangerous) Dan Stevens, appreciate the mumblegore of it all, describe horror vs. thriller, and again, SWOON over Dan Stevens. Did we mention that we liked Dan Stevens in this? We also discuss other men we find sexy and Graham finds another way to insult Halloween III. Plus, some talk about the incredible 2025 horror film Weapons!

S4E11 - Drop Dead Gorgeous
This week, Ashley introduces Katie to the 1999 cult class "Drop Dead Gorgeous!" We cover all things Minnesota thanks to Ashley's expertise, celebrate all of the hilariously funny women in the cast, and Graham screams at Ashley for (not really) remembering the TV show 'Cheers.' Plus, we may have a new title for our show?

As summer comes to a close, we head back to camp! This week, we discuss the 1995 Disney gem 'Heavyweights,' starring Ben Stiller and a whole mess of people who go on to do some great things. We also discuss our own summer camp experiences (did Graham say...'puppet camp?') and other camp-centered films we enjoy. So, grab a seat by the campfire, make some s'mores and enjoy!

S4E09 - Bugsy Malone
Ooooffff...this is a contentious one! This week, Graham and Ashley subject Katie to the absolutely wild 1976 kid gangster musical Bugsy Malone! Kid gangster musical you say?! Katie must have LOVED it. (Spoiler: She did not love it!) We have quite a time discussing one of the strangest movies that has ever graced the silver screen, starring Scott Baio (boo) and Jodie Foster (yay). So, grab your spurge gun, put on your dancing shoes, and have Paul Williams dub all of your singing, because when you give a little love, it all comes back to you!

S4E08 - Muppet Treasure Island
This week, we are looking for adventure on the BIG BLUE WET THING! Graham introduces Katie and Ashley to the charming, swashbuckling Muppet adventure where Kermit & the gang (and an amazing Tim Curry) take on the Robert Louis Stevenson's classic. We recorded this back in 2024, so if any pop culture references are out of date, that's why :)

S4E07 - Deep Blue Sea
This week, Katie re-introduces us to the 1999 shark thriller Deep Blue Sea. Sharks! Samuel L. Jackson untimely end! A wet Thomas Jane (yum)! We discuss fun kills, cheesy effects, and how Graham was afraid he'd be attacked by a shark in his backyard pool growing up (?). We wrap up with a discussion on our summer jobs: Katie as a CHEF(!), Graham hatred of lettuce wraps, and Ashley's adventures in Hollywood. Shark Week is upon us this month, so take a bite out of the one. ALSO, stay until the very end for a VERY, VERY, VERY special guest!

ARE YOU READY TO kind of ROCK?! Ashley introduces one of The Disney Channel's highest rated D-COMs (that's "Disney Original Movies" for those of us not in the know) and we go in on the fabulous fashion, purity rings, and an unexpected "appearance" from the Kids, Incorporated alum?! We also discuss what instruments are the sexiest and end it with some questions for Katie. In the words of Demi Lovato's Mitchie, this is episode is "really good!"

S4E05 - The Heiress (1949)

For this episode, we go way back to 1949 with William Wyler's "The Heiress," starring Olivia de Havilland in her Academy Award-winning performance in one heck of a movie. We gush over her brilliant performance, marvel at Ralph Richardson's portrayal of a particularly dastardly father, and absolutely SWOON over the delicious Montgomery Clift. We then dive into the value of a film with an ambiguous ending, and we wrap it up with Graham asking Ashley a handful of fun media-centered questions.

You can find the video Graham brings up at the end here and wonder to yourself, "Why the hell did this make him so emotional?"

Can you believe it? We are back! Join us as we cover the 1995 film version of The Baby-Sitters Club and celebrate women in business! We also caught an episode of the 1990 HBO television series and had quite a time comparing the two adaptations. Just quick programming note: Katie had to dip out towards the end of the episode to take care of a new family addition(!) and apologies for some wonky audio at certain points. S4E01 - Mouse Hunt
What's that? A new episode (and new SEASON) of LMIY in your podcast feeds? Believe it! After an extended hiatus, the gang is back to catch up on what has happened over the past 9 months, both in life and what media we've enjoyed. We then launch into our new theme "Movies for Vanna" (in celebration of Katie's new bundle of joy) with her family favorite, 1997's Mouse Hunt! Katie gives us a rundown of why this was a VHS staple in her family's life and Ashley and Graham delight in the pratfalls that befall Nathan Lane and Lee Evans as they battle a cute mouse. Other topics: Katie's Titanic obsession, M3GAN gays, and general merriment! We're so happy to be back, friends. More to come!

Let Me Introduce You
S3E15 - Mother, May I Sleep with Danger?
It's our SEASON FINALE EPISODE...and we're bringing you, our dear listeners, two very special offerings -- 1) a 1996 film that NONE of us had ever seen, starring our podcast's patron saint, Ms. Tori Spelling, and 2) The Second Annual LMIY Awards! So please join us for this made for TV movie that really is just the epitome of fun trash. Tori Spelling plays the titular character Laurel -- a senior in college, star of her track team, a real whiz in the classroom -- as she falls in love with sexy stranger Kevin. But when Kevin's revealed to be the killer from the opening salvo of this "film", our dear Tori is in for a wild ride of relationship abuse, stalking, and all sorts of dangerous insanity. How many people are killed in this movie? What does this film and Friday the 13th have in common? WILL TORI SLEEP WITH DANGER? You'll just have to listen and find out! Then, we host our second annual LMIY Awards, going through our entire 15-episodes of season 3 to choose Best Supporting Actor and Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Director, Best Actor and Actress, Best Picture, and, of course, bestow our honorary Tori Spelling Award for the year. There are definitely some surprises and upsets in this awards season, not the least of all when Graham insists on granting himself an award as well :) (all the podcasters got awards, don't worry). So make sure you have AAA and get ready to run REALLY awkwardly for this RIDICULOUS movie!

Let Me Introduce You
S3E14 - Grease 2
How do you follow up one of the most successful musicals in modern memory? How about you cast relative unknowns in lead roles and get them started with a 1/2 finished script that makes ZERO sense, and only just barely connects to its source material? YES, THIS MOVIE IS GOD AWFUL...but it has earned its cult status over the past almost forty years...so join us as Ashley introduces Katie to a beloved childhood favorite, and the final entry in our SEQUEL SENSATION theme -- 1982's Grease 2. Starring Michelle Pfeiffer in her first leading role, this film picks up two years after Olivia Newton John and John Travolta hand jived their way through Rydell High -- focusing on our NEW CLASS of Pink Ladies and T-Birds. Michelle plays Stephanie, the leader of the Pink Ladies who is just so OVER dating T-Birds and is looking for a new man...a "cool rider". Enter new kid in town, Michael Carrington (played by Maxwell Caulfield, aka REX MANNING) -- Australian Sandy's cousin from the original film, although he is inexplicably British. He sets his sights on winning Stephanie's heart by learning everything there is to learn about motorcyclin' - and takes on a secret persona as said "cool rider". This film then gets nuts with wacky songs (hello, even if you hate this film, the song "Reproduction" is a must) insane dance numbers, and an almost 2 hour runtime. We also discuss how this film affected Ashley's entire fashion aesthetic all throughout her life, the gang's favorite musicals, a new mini-Let Me Introduce You, and a preview of our SEASON FINALE in 2 weeks. So put on your motorcycle hat and enjoy one of our more divisive episodes - 'cuz come on, we've got a rep to protect!

S3E13 - Beneath the Planet of the Apes
In one of the countless billions of galaxies in the universe, lies a medium-sized start, and one of its satellites, a green and insignificant planet, is now dead. We, your dear podcasters, are delighted to swerve HARD from last episode's heartwarming story with a film about political ruin, dystopian society, nuclear fear, religious zealotry...and sexy shirtless men with an obvious Katie pick for our SEQUEL SENSATION theme -- 1970's Beneath the Planet of the Apes! An army of civilized apes...a fortress of radiation-crazed super humans...Earth's final battle is about to begin--beneath the atomic rubble of what was once the city of New York. So listen in as we subjugate Ashley and Graham to his over 50 year film (they both paid attention-ish) and talk about how this sequel got made into one of the world's most well-known franchises (when franchises were barely a thing) -- despite a near bankruptcy and literally everything going wrong from the start. We also chat about New Wave Science fiction, this film's SUB-PAR make up effects, the absolute sexiness of lead actor James Franciscus (aka the Caffeine-free, diet Coke version of Charlton Heston) and how you follow up the intensely mind-blowing ending of the first film (and then, how do you make a third movie?!). We also have TWO mini-Let Me Introduce Yous and discuss what intelligent animals we would want ruling the planet in the future. Join us as we reveal our innermost selves to you!

S3E12 - Paddington 2
Hey, there. The world has been a lot lately. But if we're kind and polite, the world will be right. So why don't you make a cuppa, grab yourself a marmalade sandwich, and join us not only for an unBEARably delightful film, but the launch of our new theme -- SEQUEL SENSATIONS! Graham has been singing the virtues of this film for at least five episodes now, so it's finally time for him to introduce Katie and Ashley to the charmingly disarming Paddington 2. Starring a venerable who's who of Brittan's finest actors, including Hugh Grant (who you obv know), Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter's Dolores Umbridge), Julie Walters (Harry Potter's Mrs. Weasley), Ben Whishaw (James Bond's Q), Jim Broadbent< Jessica Hynes, Brendan Gleason AND SO MANY MORE...this is truly a children's film filled with joy, prestige, beauty and challenge. Not often do all 3 of your podcasters agree on a film, but all three completely fell in love with every aspect of this treasure. We also discuss children's films in today's society, other sequels who surpased their originals in popularity, and a special Mini Let Me Introduce You from this week's host (who we must say has never had any complaints about his Mr and Mrs Botty-Cheek).

Let Me Introduce You
S3E11 - Labyrinth (with Kyle McDaniel)
We're ending our EXCUSE ME, WHAT?! Series of films we JUST CAN'T FRIGGING BELIEVE the others haven't seen with a big one...a GIANT WHIFFED MISS in Katie's film education, 1986's Labyrinth. This film is a seminal work in the canon of Jim Henson, and showcases some of the amazing things that puppetry can do on film...from something as tiny as a wee little worm who offers you tea with the missus, to a swamp filled with buttholes, or even a collection of weird bird fire things who switch arms and legs and heads (while singing). And who better to introduce us to this film (other than Graham, well-known Henson lover) but our special guest -- actor, story animator, former Pixar employee and theater kid to the bone (and obv. friend of the pod) Mr. Kyle McDaniel! Kyle lures your favorite podcasters in with tales of the Goblin King aka David Bowie, reading hidden clues around set design and dress, the beauty of Jennifer Connelly, and why his favorite character in all of this fantasy madness is Hoggle. In a film that bases its story on how much something means to you once its gone, we willingly get lost in the joyful maze that is Labyrinth. So join us in the oubliette (we haven't been able to get out) and get ready for DANCE MAGIC, DANCE!

S3E10 - An Affair to Remember
It's not often we visit the 1950s, but for Ashley's pick in our judgement-free theme (we promise), EXCUSE ME, WHAT?! -- films we cannot believe the others have seen -- we take a romantic trip on an Italian cruise, right into the hearts of Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr in 1957's An Affair to Remember. Our two main characters fall in love (OBV) on a cruise ship while involved with other people, so they give themselves six months to sort their lives out and promise to meet on the closest thing to heaven, the Empire State Building. But then a HORRIBLE ACCIDENT...and not to get emotional, but Graham was OVERWHELMED with joy for this movie. Katie...well, you'll just have to listen to find out. Your three favorite podcasters also discuss the fashion, the inspired improvisational style of acting in this film, and another Mini-Let Me Introduce You. And in the truest nature of this affair...DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE. Winter is cold for those with no warm memories, so cuddle up with this delightful tryst.

S3E9 - Amadeus
We, your beloved podcasters, pride ourselves on our film knowledge and expertise. However, there are some movies that have simply escaped our cultural lexicon...some of them are even BEST PICTURE WINNERS. I bet you'd say "Excuse me, WHAT?! YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS?!" Well, you wouldn't be the only one...so we proudly present our second entry into the MOVIES WE CAN'T BELIEVE YOU HAVEN'T SEEN with our first Best Picture Winner, 1984's Amadeus. Katie and Graham ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MOVIE...and while we can't find the Theatrical Release anywhere online, we dive into the almost 3-hour directors cut and are BEYOND SURPRISED that Ashley made it through in once piece as her first viewing! We also chat a bit about our time playing instruments growing up, and a very special mini-MINI Let Me Introduce You. Well...there it is.
