#18- Mr. Urban Jaekle- A simple systematic trader who has survived close to three decades in the stock market shares his wisdom on trading system development and making systems that work.
Hello! Welcome to episode #18 of the 'Learn from Traders' podcast. This week's guest is Mr. Urban Jaekle from Germany. He is a trader and has co-authored the book 'Trading Systems - A new approach to system development and portfolio optimisation' along with Mr. Emlio Tomasini. This book has two editions, and I thought of inviting Mr. Jaekle to my podcast while I was reading the second edition. In his book, he explains how one should go about doing systematic trading, backtesting trading systems, collecting data from the right sources and so much more. For me, this book has proven to be so helpful. I recommend this book to every one who wants to get started with systematic trading. Mr. Jaekle has been trading for almost three decades. His trading experience is more than my age. He will tell you things which only an experienced trader can tell, one of them being how he always had a main source of income and traded on the side. While depending on trading for a livelihood is not a wrong thing to do, not having a regular source of income to pay for your expenses is not good as hoping that the stock market will be able to help you with that can be dangerous. One of the most fascinating things about Mr. Jaekle is the simplicity of the logic behind his trading systems and strategies. He makes very good use of common sense to develop his strategies. So, without giving away too much information, I'll leave you here to enjoy the episode and learn from Mr. Urban Jaekle. He definitely has a lot to teach us. Happy trading and investing! #17- Mr. Vivek Gadodia (technovestor) - An experienced, extremely knowledgeable and super joyful algo trader who makes algo trading sound so easy and fun.

Hello and welcome to this week's episode of 'Learn from Traders'. On this episode, I have with me Mr. Vivek Gadodia, a full-time algo trader and a fin-tech entrepreneur.  He is the co-founder of Dravyaniti, a fin-tech company that designs algorithmic-trading systems for its clients and creates Alternative Investment Trading strategy products. We recorded this episode about 3 weeks ago when the war between Russia and Ukraine was quite a hot topic.

Mr. Vivek is a Commerce graduate, but strongly believes that a person’s educational background does not determine his/her success in the markets. The success part comes only when you work hard as a trader or an investor. His background in systems and his experience in trading led him to the second position globally in designing market neutral algorithms of US equities in a competition conducted by one of the world's largest crowd-sourced hedge funds. He is a curious person by nature and believes that the best way to learn something is by teaching it to others. That explains why he is a visiting faculty at the Bombay Stock Exchange’s Training Institute in Mumbai. I’m very excited to learn about algo trading from Mr. Vivek. I hope you get lots of learnings and lessons from his knowledge and experience. Let’s get started!

#12- With the legendary trader Mr. Jason Shapiro- 'The Contrarian' from Jack Schwager's book 'Unknown Market Wizards'

The lesser I speak about this episode and our guest, the better it will be for you as a listener and a learner. I want you to listen to this episode and dive deep into our conversation and then learn. Everything that Mr. Shapiro talks about in this episode is from his goldmine of lessons that he has accumulated over the course of 30 years of trading. He starts with talking about his early days, and as the conversation progresses, we discuss how trading according to his real personality and beliefs is something that worked for him in the markets. It gave him the name 'The Contrarian' as Mr. Shapiro likes to bet against the market sentiment and follow a contrarian approach. To develop the ability to follow such an approach, a person has to be true to themselves. That is something I picked up Mr. Shapiro from the moment we started talking. He is a true contrarian by nature, but more importantly, he is raw, real, honest and simple. His trading approach is similar. He does not care about the world or what people think of him. He just follows his strategy with discipline, self-belief and patience. Without giving too much information here, I want to confess that this episode is amazing, for the lack of a better word. Mr. Shapiro has a lot to teach every one. Try to make sense of the simple pieces of advice, or rather the pearls of wisdom that he has to offer, and see how much this person can change you for good. If nothing, he will surely help you become more honest with yourself.

To know more about Mr. Jason Shapiro and the helpful work he and his team are doing at their organization 'Crowded Market Report', do check out their website- 'https://www.crowdedmarketreport.com/'. The community at CMR and the membership programs are a good place to learn from and improve as a trader.

#11- Ms. Neha Singh on starting Womoneysta, why women must take an active part in financial matters, building a 'freedom fund' & the importance of financial independence in today's world.

This episode is not just about managing your money better. There are tons of life lessons in this that Ms. Neha Singh, our guest and the founder of Womoneysta, shares with us. In this episode, we talk about setting up what she calls a 'freedom fund', why women should not take a backseat in financial decisions and stand up for themselves, how Warren Buffet has a feminine mindset when it comes to investing (maybe that is why he is the greatest investor in the world), the importance of having a supportive partner and parents, and much more. Neha ma'am is definitely an inspiration for me. Through Womoneysta, she has created a community of 500+ women who have learnt how to take charge of their finances and not be dependent on the male figures in their life for managing their money. All the members of the community are on the path to living a life on their own terms and without any financial hindrances. They all owe it to the legendary Ms. Neha Singh who has empowered so many women. Womoneysta is a blend of her passion for personal finance and women empowerment. I had so much to learn from her. I assure you that in this straight up, no bullshit episode, you will get to learn a lot about personal finance plus how to live a life that is well-lived. I highly recommend everyone to give this one a proper hearing and share it with all your female friends and the members in your family and close circle. If they wish to learn how to master their finances, they should definitely join the tribe at Womoneysta. I hope you derive lots of value from this. Do share this as much as possible so that more and more people benefit from the learnings.  Thank you! Happy trading and investing!

#2- Talking about 2 common trading mistakes- FOMO & not cutting your losses when you should + personal confession!

Welcome to the second episode! I hope that you're liking my podcast!
This is my first solo episode. I decided to record this so that I could share the importance of psychology in trading. No matter what kind of trader you are, having the right mindset and knowledge about yourself is key to success. In this podcast, I discuss two of the most common trading mistakes that traders make. First is taking trades because they feel the Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) and second one is not cutting their losses quickly once it is clear that their strategy has not worked out as expected. I have shared my personal experiences and explained how I also made these mistakes despite knowing about them. I have stressed on the importance of practical application versus having theoretical knowledge so that it becomes easier to understand. So, with that, I hope that you enjoy listening to this episode and learn from it! Happy trading and investing!

Learn from Traders
#1 Learn from the mistakes we made as beginners ft. Amritansh Soni
When you are new to something, you tend to make mistakes. The only problem is not learning from them. In our first episode, I spoke to a very dear friend of mine who introduced me to trading. We discuss about some mistakes we made as novice traders (we still are novices) and discussed where we went wrong. You can learn about our mistakes and what we learnt from them so that you do not end up making the same mistakes in your journey. Since this is my first episode, I admit that the sound quality is not at par with other established podcasters but with time and experience, I only promise to get better and grow, which in turn, is the ultimate aim of starting this podcast. The markets are not in anyone's control, but what you can focus on is self-improvement every day. Control what you can- your learning, discipline, health, and most importantly, learning from mistakes. With this, I welcome you to the very first episode of 'Stock Market etc. etc.'. I promise to create value for everyone who decides to give me their time by listening to my podcast.

Hello and welcome to my podcast. This is Meet, your host, and a fellow student who's here to learn. Firstly, I request every listener to think of himself/herself as a student as I assure you that you will get something new to learn in every episode. I have three aims here- to learn more about the world of finance and money, gain more knowledge about trading in the stock market, and finally, the main aim is to help others who choose to give me their valuable time make smarter financial decisions. I will be sharing my own knowledge as well as interviewing experts. So, let's go!!
