True leaders are willing to accept them all. There are instances where sometimes it makes us feel better to blame somebody or something else when something goes wrong in a task. However, this should not be practiced, especially by a good leader! A leader should take full responsibility of a task - not just before he accepts to take it, but also after it has been accomplished.

You're a leader because the people in your group treat you like one......Like a Captain. The only choice you have is what kind of job you'll do. When you become a leader your power actually goes down but your influence goes up. The people who work for you pay attention to what you say and do. So it will be better if you improve your attitude.

Just because someone is successful doesn't mean they are going to be a good leader. Many successful people thrive in spite of their poor leadership skills not because of having good skills. There are so many leadership trainings and programs out there but the training or program must adequately deal with deliberations on leadership, and not limit the understanding of the term to its limited sense.  You don't need to say anything to your boss that you deserve to be a good leader ...your clients will promote you to your boss without needing to be asked, because they know exactly how you are doing in completing that project. Everything your client says will be very influential on your boss and whatever you say to your boss does not necessarily affect him ... if at that time your boss receives a lot of recommendations from clients and he believes in them, then please hold your breath.....and prepare to accept a big job......high position......and that makes you Larger Than Life
