My title for this podcast may only mention Joey Spallina & Syracuse, but I promise, in this episode we'll talk about the incredible games played between Richmond & Cornell, Syracuse & Princeton, Georgetown & Maryland and Notre Dame and Penn State. After discussing the games from this past weekend, we'll dive into previews for the Syracuse vs Maryland and Penn State vs Cornell games that will be played on Saturday.
In this weeks episode, I'll quickly re-cap the first round games while discussing this weekends quarterfinal matchups. We'll discuss every upcoming game including Richmond vs Cornell, Syracuse vs Princeton, Georgetown vs Maryland and Notre Dame vs Penn State.

Conference tournament weekend is almost over, we have all but 2 tournament seats decided. Syracuse beat Notre Dame in a "win and your in" game on Saturday. Ohio State booked their first Big Ten Tournament Championship over Maryland. Richmond, Georgetown, Siena, Towson and others also get to dance after wins on Saturday.
We'll talk about the crazy CJ Kirst has had this season for Cornell. We'll talk about a bunch of games played this weekend and will mix in quite a bit of bracketology as well in my first week back after a bit of a hiatus.
Cornell, Maryland, Ohio State and Princeton all handled their business and picked up wins on Saturday. North Carolina was the lone top-5 team to get beat making life a bit easier for the media members that get a vote in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll.
Syracuse got a big win over arch rival Virginia despite UVA jumping out to a 5-1 lead early in the game. Notre Dame beat up on Duke for the second season in a row. Michigan took down Hopkins on a day that the Jays struggled to get anything going offensively. We'll talk about these games and more in the 300th episode of the LaxFactor Podcast.
The college lacrosse world saw its #1 ranked team in Maryland and its #3 ranked team in Army both dropped in overtime on Saturday. Michigan needed a late game save in overtime out of Hunter Taylor to help lift them over the Terps, and Boston University got a huge save from their keeper, Will Barnes to get them over the hump against Army.
Syracuse welcomed upstate rival and #18 Colgate to the Dome on Saturday and came away victors. Princeton hosted Ivy League rival Harvard and managed to hold them off for a 2-goal victory.

This weekend was thin on ranked matchups, but it more than made up for it with 5 games on Saturday needing overtime to get to the winner, including Duke and Towson each picking up thrilling OT victories. Maryland, Johns Hopkins and Notre Dame all handled their business and picked up solid wins as well.

Big college lacrosse podcast today as we'll be doing recaps for a batch of Division 3 games from this past weekend as well as previewing the bulk of the Division 1 games coming up this weekend. We'll talk a bit about the Mustang Classic matchups that hit Friday and Saturday in one of the largest collections of top lacrosse teams you'll see anywhere, including the PLL.
College lacrosse got a bit more exciting this weekend as we saw #15 Ohio State upset #2 Notre Dame, and #9 Penn State took down #3 Cornell, both on the road. The top-rated Maryland Terps handled business at home against Delaware, insuring at least one of the top three teams booked a victory. Other teams that booked wins that we'll talk about, North Carolina handled Hofstra. Duke struggled, but overcame Air Force. Harvard squeaked by Michigan thanks to Sam Kings big day, and many more.

This is a week of college lacrosse that doesn’t feature a whole lot of top 20 matchups, but we will be getting a Johns Hopkins vs Syracuse matchup at the Dome which is all anyone can really ask for. Notre Dame will host Ohio State and Cornell will take on Penn State in the other top 20 matchups that I’ll have my eyes on. College lacrosse fans were treated to a battle between #1 Notre Dame and #2 Maryland and it didn't disappoint with the Terps taking home the one-goal victory over the returning national champs, and in the process proved their worth without any doubt.
Princeton and Johns Hopkins each pulled one-goal wins out of their respective behinds taking down Duke and Virginia respectively. North Carolina and Syracuse were the lone ACC teams to pick up victories each handling their business against inferior foes. The Hoyas took down Brown, Ohio State dropped Bryant and Colgate picked up a big win over conference rival Loyola. This college lacrosse season has been crazy, and this weekend we get a battle between #1 Notre Dame and #2 Maryland, in Atlanta. I'll talk about that game and many more in this weekends college lacrosse weekend previews.

In the top battle of the weekend, #6 Maryland beat #2 Syracuse by taking away the Orange's inside game. Richmond toppled Virginia in a stunning upset in Charlottesville. Johns Hopkins needed some last minute heroics from Matt Collison and Russel Melendez to take out Loyola on the road by a goal. We’ll talk about the Ivy League finally seeing action, Notre Dame is now 2-0 after two blowouts and more.

We had a great Saturday filled with quality college lacrosse games topped off by Maryland's OT win over Loyola on the road. John Hopkins picks up their third win over a ranked opponent, so far the toughest schedule out of anyone in the land. The ACC teams, including Syracuse, Virginia, North Carolina and Duke all cruised to easy wins. Delaware travelled cross country and took down a hot Utah squad. We have a near full sloate of games in what has become known as WEEK ZERO in division 1 college lacrosse. #2 Syracuse hosts Jacksonville in the Dome. #5 Maryland hosts #20 Richmond in College Park. Bellarmine goes on the road to face #7 Duke. The Game of the week will see #10 Denver host #8 Johns Hopkins in the only matchup with two top 10 teams in the mix. Beyond that, #11 Georgetown takes on Loyola, #14 Penn State gets a do-over against Colgate, #15 Michigan will take on Marquette and #19 Ohio State plays Utah.
