After hitting publish, I realized that I didn't really explain why I added the -ish after widow. And it is because I'm not really a widow. We were not married. We got engaged in April 2022 and he died 16 months later. We had plans to marry in early 2024 in Puerto Rico (where I'm from). So... am I really a widow? Not legally. Not in the Catholic Church.
