Lisa Schotman - The Collection One: A Sustainable Vintage Journey

Lisa Schotman's entrepreneurial journey started with a dream to open a shop. Starting in East Amsterdam 4 years ago, she expanded to the city center and Jordaan, and now hosts pop-up events every few months. Her business, The Collection One, sells vintage and sustainable brands.

I first met Lisa at the Shhh community event, co-hosted with Sheila Guo, where she shared insights on building her business from the ground up. That inspiring talk led to our in-depth podcast conversation.

In this episode, we explore

Lisa's entrepreneurial journey

The nature of sustainable fashion and vintage clothing

Practical business strategies for emerging entrepreneurs

Lisa's approach to vintage is meticulous. She carefully evaluates the quality of each piece, researches the companies behind it, examines the fabric quality, and considers the production origins. Her background in fashion, coupled with her business expertise, gives her a unique perspective on the industry.

This episode underscores the importance of combining passion with business acumen. Lisa's story illustrates how combining fashion expertise with strategic thinking can create a successful, sustainable vintage clothing business.

Join us for an inspiring conversation about sustainable fashion, entrepreneurship and the art of vintage curation with Lisa Schotman of The Collection One.
