This episode will dig deeper into a topic that we touched on briefly in our last episode—contraceptive-induced menstrual changes. To explore this topic, we will hear from guests as well as anonymous contraceptive users giving their own testimonies.

Featuring interviews from guests who specialize in this topic, this episode will focus on both the physical and social aspects of menstrual health and discuss the importance of inclusive integration of family planning and menstrual health—including adolescents and young people, those living in humanitarian settings, and people of all gender identities and expressions who menstruate.

This third episode will cover the integration of family planning with HIV services, an approach that shows significant potential to improve access to family planning and better meet SRH needs overall. Our guests this episode will provide their perspective on why integration is important, what challenges still exist, and what evidence-based recommendations they have for strengthening services to better meet people’s comprehensive SRH needs.

This season, we are exploring the larger context of sexual and reproductive health (or SRH) beyond family planning. Being able to understand the holistic framework—and the range of concerns that affect people’s sexual and reproductive lives—can help ensure access to higher quality information and services for all who need them. In this episode—and throughout this season—we are going to take a fresh look at SRH—how do bodily autonomy and gender fit into this? What about pleasure? How do we ensure that sexual and reproductive health programs consider the needs of young people, and of LGBTQI+ individuals?

Our third and final episode of the season will highlight some tools and resources to help us ensure that policies and programs are more inclusive and accessible to all.

In this episode, we will highlight the experiences of community members—both those seeking FP services as well as those providing services. Their perspectives will shed light on the importance of using an intersectional lens to plan our programs.

In this season, we are speaking with guests who are applying an intersectional lens to their work in sexual and reproductive health. In this first episode, we started out by asking our guests to define the term "intersectionality" so we can all begin on the same page.

On this fourth and final episode this season, we will focus on the unique challenges of adolescents and youth—as well as creative approaches and opportunities—to ensure that young people in fragile settings can obtain the sexual and reproductive health services they need and want.

In this third episode, we are going to explore quality of care in fragile contexts and what it means for family planning service delivery.

In this episode, guests will discuss social and gender norms, and cultural contexts, which are key to understanding and improving family planning programming in fragile settings.

This episode, we will discuss engaging men and boys in family planning and reproductive health programs. We will talk to guests from diverse settings about: what this means; strategies for putting this into practice; and recommendations for how we can work with men to support women’s reproductive autonomy.

This episode explores how gender-based violence—abbreviated as GBV—intersects with family planning and reproductive health. Our featured guests will share their experiences and offer guidance and recommendations on how we can and should address GBV in our own family planning programs.

The first episode is divided into two parts. The first part will provide background and basics on gender integration in the context of family planning. We will define some key terms and explain what is meant when we say a family planning program is “gender transformative.” Then, our guests will begin unpacking the topic of reproductive empowerment, including how to measure it. The second part of the episode, “Voice, Choice, and Action” will dive deeper into reproductive empowerment.
