SEASON FINALE! What is the fate of our podcast heroes? As Brandon and Kyle reunite for the last podcast of the fantasy season they welcome two guests: our league winner Hector who discusses baseball's impact on his life as a teenage immigrant and we investigate who is to blame for the kick in the pants that made him the aggressive player/trader he's become! Also, in a meeting ten years in the making, Brandon finally talks to league manager Tim! Is Brandon finally convinced Tim is real? Find out!
Also, the conclusion of the Lenny Dykstra saga (or is it?) and a surprise return you'll never see coming! We're going out with a bang!
Thank you to everyone involved in making this season a success and to all of you who listened and stuck around! We appreciate it very much!
Stayed tuned for updates on Season 2 of the show!
It's our penultimate episode and, I don't want to spoil anything, but it's not looking good for our two podcasting heroes.
Brandon is still flying solo after RALPH's mutiny, but guest host David S, our regular season league winner is with us this episode as we talk league playoffs, comeback teams, and the Cardinals and Orioles disappointing parallels.
We also have a surprise call from a former NFL head coach to give us some life lessons, Officer Norris from the LAPD is asking some questions and, could we possibly have an appearance from Kyle? Listen and find out!
Our first ever call in show of the new, Kyle-less regime does not go as planned. No spoilers here! You're just gonna have to listen and find out!
I recommend writing this day down in your diary so you can show your future grandkids that you were there for when this episode came out.
Guest-host Alan joins the podcast as we debate the merits of the salary cap in baseball and decide on the Top Ten Best Baseball Songs. Also, Judge Brandon lays down a ruling on Shohei Ohtani, we talk to lawyer Jacob Lawman about a class action suit against our bosses, Nailz Media, and an ending so shocking your gonna hope you brought a spare pair of pants to work!

This a really humdinger of a program! People still say "humdinger", right? In this episode w/guest-host Greg, we find out if the new Fantastic Four movie will make Brandon cry, learn about a controversial new music festival, talk the MLB trade deadline, put together a list of the top baseball villains of all-time, and sports podcaster Rick MacKenzie calls in to teach how to make a better show! You think "Rates and Barrels" is giving you this kind of content? They sure aren't!
(I apologize for some of the audio issues, we had some problems with Greg's audio)

No guests this week but we introduce a new segment a to the show, "Kids Korner," where we get a glimpse into future of baseball fandom (featuring our respective children in an act of blatant nepotism). This plus a look at our league LVP's (least valuable players) for midseason, talk the new Superman movie, discuss the Orioles recent draft, hear a misguided editorial from former Braves pitcher, and solve the HR derby and the steriod era of baseball! Don't miss it! (edited 7/21/25)

Walk-on Music:
"Title Track" by the Hotelier (from the album "It Never Goes Out")
"Was There Anything I Could Do" by the Go-Betweens (from the album "16 Lovers Lane)
What? You're still here? Well you're in for it now!
We welcome long time team owner Marcus Cade to guest host and topics include possible indiscretions of your favorite AI rock band, NL All Star picks, the pain of being a Cincinnati Reds fan, to why every 20 year old at the gym looks like Jackson Holliday?
Also, we end the show with an interview with Rory Tremmill a veteran baseball player with strong opinions about baseball past and present and tells us about his foray into children's breakfast cereal. Kick your feet up (unless you are driving, then keep those feet on the pedals!), grab your favorite snack and/or adult beverage and enjoy!
Walk-on Music Recommendations:
Wednesday: Quarry (from Rat Saw God on Dead Oceans)
Crooked Fingers: Under Sad Stars (from the self-titled album on Merge Records)
We say this every episode, but this might be the best one yet! Capable guest host Zach joins us to talk about our AL All Star ballots, the Rafael Devers trade to the Giants, and Davey Martinez's vigorous defense of his coaches. All this plus league updates, movie reviews of a 10 year old film, and a call from Rickey Shurt, Lenny Dykstra's assistant and business manager, to talk about the many podcasts joining the Nailz Podcast Network.
Outro Song Recommendation: Love in the Void by Hammock
Guest Host Jeremy Doll regales us with talk of his history with the league, his many years of Phillies fandom and the good fortune of somehow finding a romantic partner that's a bigger baseball fan than you are. We have a Phillies trivia contest (my apologies for bungling the Mike Schmidt/Ryan Howard HR stat, I blame the internet), talk pitching injuries, learn about Elton John's new product, and have a special call with Nailz Media founder and our new owner, Lenny Dykstra. This is good one, folks!
Today we talk about attempts to thwart AI ads, Pete Rose, the continued woes of the Baltimore Orioles and an exciting (?) announcement about the future of the podcast. Don't skip this one!

In this episode we talk about the secret origin of our fantasy league, whether Charlie Morton is having a nervous breakdown, and what MLB players have old man names! Also we discuss some news around the league, discuss recent trades and find out what Mick Jagger is doing in his off hours. It's a good one, folks! Strap in!
After a long hiatus, we return with a new name, new home, and all of our talking skills diminished!
We talk about how the beginning of the season is going for our league owners, the woeful Baltimore Orioles, surprise player performances, and Kyle has a very needed wellness session. It'll get better guys, I swear!
