Up to now, the so-called esoteric schools have dealt with aspirants on the Path of Probation or Purification.  The schools now forming, such as the Arcane School, are concerned with training disciples and preparing them to tread the Path of Discipleship.   What is the Path of Discipleship?  What is a true esoteric school?  Is the Arcane School an esoteric school?  Who founded it and what kind of training does it provide?  Does an esoteric school have a specific relevance in today’s world?

Today is a climaxing time of change.  Humanity is passing through an extremely difficult transition period in which old forms are dying out and new ones are coming to life, with all the accompanying pain, chaos and disruption.  Always in such times a great Teacher comes forth.

The Festival of Wesak. This is the festival of the Buddha, the spiritual Intermediary between the highest spiritual centre, Shamballa, and the Hierarchy. The Buddha is the Expression of the Wisdom of God, the Embodiment of Light, and the Indicator of the divine Purpose. This will be fixed annually in relation to the Full Moon of May, as is at present the case. It is the great Eastern festival.  The next few months are intended to be (for all disciples in all Ashrams) a period of preparation for fuller service. No cost is too great to pay in order to be of use to the Hierarchy at the time of the Full Moon of May, the Wesak Festival; no price is too high in order to gain the spiritual illumination which can be possible, particularly at that time. The most contagious human quality which can be organised and made effective is goodwill. It has been defined as “Love in Action”. People of goodwill are potentially the richest asset in any nation, and can have tremendous influence on public opinion when properly associated and focussed. Rather, we need a deeper sense of reality based on spiritual values, and a new perception of humanity as a unit of divine life within an ordered and purposive universe.
